When to expect '12' week scan if I just registered today

Just registered today with hospital.
I'm 8w+4d
My trust state first scan would be between 8-12 weeks , this is a rough estimate tho.
They suggest registering as soon as have a positive test.
Since I'm already 8 weeks do you think there will be delay in getting my first scan? I've seen some tests suggest it will take place between 12-14 weeks.
Wondering if I should book a private scan before Christmas or just wait til new year. I just don't really want to be waiting until the end of January or something for my nhs scan

I mean - book a private scan if you really want but I’d just wait for the NHS appointment to come through and if it’s not a 12 weeks (or close) get a private one if you really want.
They usually want to get it done pretty on time for the health screening which is date specific and the main reason for the scan.

You'll still get in between the correct dates think you have to be between 10+6 and 13+6 to have the nuchal testing done so shouldn't be an issue, imagine they'll ring you for your booking app soon too x

Congrats!

If going by your dates you feel you'll be outside the 14 week limit for doing the NT as a previous poster said, you can always ring the antenatal clinic and ask if there's an earlier appointment available. This happened to me earlier this year, my own dates put me just outside the 14 weeks but I was able to ring and change it.

I wasn’t booked in until 11 weeks and had my scan at 13+6 due to it being fully booked. They were still able to complete all of the tests

I find it hard to believe your trust say your scan would be 8-12 weeks. They can’t do most of the measurements then. You’ve probably misunderstood and it’s your booking appointment in that window.
Your scan will be between 12 and just shy of 14 weeks as that’s the window for key measurements and tests.
When you registered your pregnancy is irrelevant really.

This.

At 8 weeks no way would they be able to do measurements of baby. We had an eight week private scan it was literally a blob! By 12 weeks baby looked like a baby.

They'll try and get you in as close to 12 weeks as possible

Your booking appointment is done between 8-12 weeks, which will be an appointment with your midwife where they go through medical history and do some blood tests, your scan will be done between 11-14 weeks, earlier than that they won’t be able to date it accurately.

Thanks for the responses.

The estimated scan date must be an error on their behalf. I have not misunderstood. The referral form states the booking scan would take place between 8-10 weeks of pregnancy

@Coffeerum hi , no I haven't misunderstood. It was stated the booking appointment with midwife would take place between weeks 8-10 and then scan date would be organised. The dates given by trust for the scan were 8-12
