How to deal with anxiety in early pregnancy. Terrified I'm going to miscarry

Had a previous miscarriage between 4- 5 weeks one year ago.
I'm now 8 weeks pregnant and I'm just terrified. I'm terrified everytime I wipe and the anxiety is overwhelming.
Had a 7 week scan last week and everything looked fine but I know first 12 weeks is highest risk of miscarriage and I'm high risk for it anyway. Anyone any tips how to deal with the anxiety

So sorry you’re feeling so anxious. I think the first trimester of pregnancy is horrible and you’re not alone. If you aren’t feeling too sick try and keep yourself busy. Also remember that anything going wrong is completely out of your control.

I was the same Hun, I had a MMC at 14 weeks in January and I'm currently 22+3 now. The first 12-14 weeks for me were terrifying, I actually tried to forget I was pregnant most of the time. sticking to rules of what not to eat etc but just trying to forget and preoccupy myself. Every appointment and scan I would shake uncontrollably with fear. Since my 16 week gender scan and 20 week NHS scan I feel my anxiety has calmed a lot. I still check the paper every, single, time I wipe and sometimes even use the torch on my phone to inspect it just incase 🤦🏼‍♀️. But I promise it does get easier, I feel her move now and it's the most reassuring thing when she's beating me up!

You've got this, talk to those close to you, keep yourself busy and most of all, have hope and faith in your body. You've already gone past the week you miscarried last time, that's atleast one milestone hit! Next stop 12 week scan x

Do hypnosis for calm on your tube

I’m the same as you Op - 7 weeks pregnant after five early losses but this is the first time we have seen a wee heartbeat.

Im freaking out today because I read that nausea/morning sickness usually starts week 6 and then I googled and found that there’s a higher chance of miscarriage if you don’t have nause/sickness.

lack of symptoms is freaking me out x

Didn't want to read and run! I'm 6 weeks at the moment and feel the same. I try and stay busy, and try to stay off Google (but both of these are really difficult!) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I had a loss at around 7 weeks, 22 weeks pregnant now off the back of that miscarriage.

I don't feel anxious about it now, especially as this kid is so active in there! But the worry is there every time you wipe from a wee. It gets easier though - you'll soon have your little one safe in your arms

I know is a worrying time but 4-5 weeks is a much more high risk time than 8 weeks when you’ve already seen baby fine on the scan. Most women who have 1 miscarriage will carry successfully the next time, I had a 4 week m/c then had lovely healthy baby the following year.

Some lovely person posted this on MN and I checked it every day until week 13 on my second: Miscarriage calculator
I am a person who likes numbers and data, so I found it soothing in a bizarre way

I've experienced recurrent loss and know how you're feeling - it's so hard.

I don't have any magic answers but a couple of things that helped me get through the hardest weeks were counselling from a fertility specialist, and mindfulness from the "mindful IVF" app (although the app is designed for people going through IVF there are first trimester mindfulness sessions on there which could apply to anyone).

If you've seen a heartbeat statistics are now very much on your side.
