Body fat percentage during pregnancy

I’m in my third trimester and really worried how my body fat percentage has now tipped into the obese category. I was a normal weight and body fat before pregnancy, weight has gone up bang on average, my arms and face I think still look slim. But I can’t find anything online that explains what could happen with body fat during pregnancy.
Some articles suggest it shouldn’t change…so maybe it’s my scales that can’t work properly because of the extra fluids? Anyone else been taking readings on smart scales during pregnancy?

These sorts of calculations simply do not work during pregnancy.

Your body is changing in a myriad ways - just as it is meant to - and smart scales simply cannot cope with all the variables.

Stop weighing yourself. Concentrate instead on eating well.

And I recommend not weighing yourself at all until about 6 weeks after you've had the baby, because there's an awful lot of post-baby change going on

You're probably right it's not measuring accurately due to you being pregnant. Even if it is, there's two of you being measured not one! I would pay it no mind

My smart scales say not to use if pregnant, not sure on the reasoning but maybe have a check on yours?

As a personal trainer completely ignore the BF % On the scales when pregnant. Even when not pregnant they are hardly accurate! They are not to be used other than as a scale when pregnant :) x
