High risk?

Hi!

I went for my first hospital appointment yesterday(5 weeks 3 days estimated) and they said everything looks fine no ectopic etc and I have to go back in 4 weeks for another scan once the baby is bigger.
I notice on my card today it says pregnanancy high risk but there was no mention if this yesterday.
I'm slightly overweight and my blood pressure was slightly high, do you think that would be the reason they out high risk?

You need to ask them why they put you down as high risk.

With blood pressure they normally take it a few times to confirm it isn't white coat syndrome.

I'm going to call them on Monday but while I'm waiting over the weekend I just wanted to see if anyone had any idea why they would have put this when they said everything looked fine (I've never had any past pregnancies etc) I do have pcos which I didn't mention to them yesterday as I got diagnosed when I was a teenager but never had any symptoms

Hmmm do you have any previous medical conditions that were serious? Or any family history of high blood pressure etc? If BP reading was high, did they offer you any meds for this? High BMI could put you in a high risk group if very high

How old are you? That can sometimes make people be classed as high risk?

Blueberry1990 · 02/12/2023 11:42

I'm 32.
Nope all the questions she asked about family history answers were no (diabetes etc)
I've got no medical conditions at all and never been on medication for anything, never had a surgery etc.

I've moved abroad and this is the fiest time I've ever been in that hospital so I don't have any medical history here

If your BMI puts you into the obese category this may be why.

Blueberry1990 · 02/12/2023 12:22

My BMI is 28 overweight
