The sickness is back - 27 weeks

This is my second pregnancy and with both I had a very sicky first trimester. Last time though I felt great in my second trimester.

this time I’ve not had that energy hit that I was expecting. The sickness did stop at 14 weeks but came back two weeks ago. I’m at a bit of a loss for what to do. Today I’ve been sick after everything I’ve tried to eat. I feel so weak because there’s no food in me but I can’t keep anything down. No amount of peppermint tea or ginger biscuits are doing the trick 😥

has anyone else experienced sickness coming back? Did anything help? I’ve discussed anti sickness tablets but they don’t stop the nausea so I still feel like I’m going to struggle to function normally even if I take them.

Hi @glasspaw

This happened to me in my pregnancy. I had the occasional bouts of nausea and sickness in my first trimester but really nothing to complain about. By about 25-26 weeks I started to have episodes of sickness that was way worse than in the first trimester. Out of curiosity do you seem to be suffering from acid reflux or heartburn during your pregnancy? I had horrific acid reflux/heartburn and found it made me really sick. My GP prescribed me omeprazole to take but I can’t honestly say it did much to help unfortunately. I don’t have much advice I’m afraid but just thought I would comment to see whether the heartburn/reflux may be the case for yourself?
Hope the sickness doesn’t last much longer for you and that you can maybe find a cause for it x

@raevans thanks for responding. I do have horrendous acid reflux. Gavisvon helps but I’m literally getting through a sleeve a day which can’t be normal. It hasn’t stopped the sickness though sadly, just made the reflux symptoms more tolerable.
