Rhesus negative

Hi, I'm just after some advice. I've just lost a baby at 8 weeks and am booked in for d and c tomorrow. Due to rh negative blood type I'm to have anti d injection after. I had a mmc in Feb, I was just over 12 weeks but baby had died at 8 weeks, I was booked in for d and c with that pregnancy but then ended up passing the baby naturally at home in what felt like a rather traumatizing night. I was told I'd had a complete miscarriage and nothing more was said. I'd had a bit of spotting in that pregnancy but saw baby at 6w4d and all was well. Having read up on anti d and rhesus negative, I was never offered this injection after the bleeding or the miscarriage and I'm now concerned if I may in fact now have the antibodies (been sensitized) and the injection will even do anything. The donor is rhesus positive. I never got round to having my booking appointment or bloods with the midwives before this current loss but it was known in my previous loss by the gynecology dealing with me my blood type as it was on my green notes and their system. Until yesterday I was never made aware of any of this negative positive incompatibility and the only thing that has been getting me mentally through this loss has been knowing I will try again. Now I'm terrified and feel it would be unfair to try again with the donor but my wife carried our first child and I really wanted them to be related to each other. If anyone has any insight or their own story to tell I'd really appreciate it.

I'm not sure but I has 2 miscarriages and am resus negative. I'm sure I was told I was fine as it wasn't far into the pregnancy 🤔 it's hard to remember now.. wasn't until I has a tint bleed with my son at about 30 weeks that I was given an anti D injection x

I think you should have had anti-d both times.

Often anti d isn't given if the loss is before 12/13 weeks. Sorry for your loss

I've just had the d and c and the bloods I had on Saturday showed im negative for antibodies so thank God but I'm not sensitized. I've just had the anti d now and my gosh I was a big needle. I'm with a different hospital this time and they seem to be a bit more thorough. So I will be sticking with this. They have also referred me to the recurrent miscarriage team, I was told I'd need a 3rd loss after 6 weeks but I've had 7 before 6 weeks so 9 all together and I think they are going to use one of those chemicals as the 3rd. I'm so sad this has happened but feel like I've got the right care network around me. This hospital said they would have probably given anti d for the last loss and bleed but that it's down to each hospital and ward before 12 weeks. Thankyou x

I've had a couple of chemicals over the years, a mmc and then a 6ish week miscarriage before my ds was born.
🤞 it's next time lucky for you! I never realised how hard it can be before trying for my son x

Still trying 😩

I had a miscarriage and passed most of the baby myself but had some parts manually removed (not surgery) and was then given tablets. I was told I didn't need anti d as I was eight weeks. I think that needing surgery Vs not is the reason why they give anti d or not before 12 weeks.
I hope the clinic is able to help you.
