Scan saying 6 weeks +6 days but last period makes me 8 weeks?

Had my LMP 13th September, first positive test was October 15th. Had a scan at what should of been 6 weeks and all they saw was a yolk sac and pregnancy sac, had a rescan today, saw the baby and a pulsing heartbeat which they said www fast and strong. But they've dated me 6 weeks 6 days. I asked about it and she said that's what they've measured so that's what i am. Im just a bit confused. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this?

@TheShellBeach I'll have my next scan on December 8th now, which is my 12 weeks scan. I feel a lot more relaxed now I've seen a heartbeat, but the dating behind has really thrown me and it is worrying me a bit. But trying to not let it as the doctors aren't worried.

In myself I just feel constantly travel sick (they gave me anti sickness tablets but they just make me so drowsy) and food is just the worst thing ever invented unless it's coco pops😂

I lived on fish fingers in one of my pregnancies.

Don't worry about the dating. They're always slightly out.

Just to update this thread. I had my 12 week scan yesterday and I've caught up with dates. I am 12 weeks 2 days now, so all worked out perfectly ❤️
