Baby movements at 22 weeks

Hello everyone,
I'm 22w1d and, despite having an anterior placenta, I've been feeling my daughter move since about 18 weeks, with increasing strength and intensity.
I have days where I feel her better and clearer than others, and today is one of those days where her movements have been a bit muffled and not as strong as other days.
Maybe I'm overthinking it, because to be honest I have felt her all day today, but it's mostly been wriggles and tiny flips rather than bigger movements. I also ate a piece of candied ginger which always gets her going, and she did give me some stronger kicks about 30m after that but still a bit muffled. Is it possible she's just behind the placenta or something or maybe just having a quieter day?
I know not to expect a pattern until much later on but I can't keep but wondering.
Thank you in advance xx

There is a thread on here right now from a woman who waited to get movements checked and one of her twins had died. Please get it seen to, the maternity unit won’t mind.

Yeah I agree with pp - probably absolutely fine but there’s no harm in going in. I’m 28 weeks with an anterior placenta and have been in three times to check on him! The midwives always tell me I’ve done the right thing and to keep coming back if there’s any doubt. X

I went in to get checked when my movements changed. I went from big, kicks and rolls to tiny flutters and waited a day to see if she was just a bit sleepy but then got too anxious and went in. They happily monitored me and said baby could have just moved. Ended up with a emergency scan the day after because they were concerned about the size of baby and she had just moved which is why my movements felt weird...

Thanks everyone, I guess there's no point staying home and worrying so I called triage and they asked me to go in so that's what I'm doing. Will update once I'm back.

Good luck with everything!

Thank you @Wintermum01, just left triage, we listened to the HB which was all good and super strong (and she kept moving away from the doppler). My baby probably just changed position and/or having a quiet day, also the midwife said that their patterns tend to change every 4-6 weeks which I didn't know, so she's probably just settling into a different routine. I can still feel her a bit muffled but I guess no point in worrying. Glad I went though.

I’m 27 weeks and went in last week because I felt a lot less movement during the night- the nhs were brilliant and they said don’t leave it just go straight in to be checked any time 24 hours a day as they’ll just hook you up to the monitor to listen to their heartbeat. They gave me a button to press which was linked to the machine and I pressed it each time I felt her move- I was hooked up to the machine for half an hour and I felt so relieved I was checked over. It’s always better to be safe than sorry xx

I must say, I'm really glad for this community which I always find so supportive. I live away from my family (who's all back in my home country) and having Mumsnetters really helps so thank you all xx

Oh that’s great to hear! So pleased you went and got some reassurance. It’s lovely to hear the heartbeat 💗 x
