Covid booster- anyone else not feel it go in?

I feel like I'm in loopy land here but I had my covid booster today and genuinely didn't feel it touch my skin. I said "is it done" and she said yes and I couldn't believe it as all my previous ones hurt. There's no blood on the plaster at all and no sign of a prick, also no pain whatsoever. With all my previous ones the injection site has been hot and sore within an hour for a couple of days.

Has anyone else had this experience with the booster? Mine was Pfizer. Am I paranoid for wondering if it didn't go in properly?

I think if it hadn’t gone in properly your arm would have been wet. And they wouldn’t lie about administering it. Not sure pregnancy would affect this…

None of us are pregnant but 4 of us had covid vaccination in last two weeks and none felt it. Two got a sore arm next day, two felt very off/flu like for 24 hours. So definitely had it just not a stinging one.

I guess so, though it's just 1/10 teaspoon so would have been mopped up by the plaster. It's just been so different from my experience with previous ones.

I've had loads of vaccines for travel, and never felt any of them!

If you have a really expert nurse doing an injection, you shouldn’t feel it or bleed.

If it hurts they’re new or bad at their job.

Sounds like you’ve had a bunch of amateurs jabbing at you in the past.

Ha maybe! It was all the people in tents before, during covid. I had a flu jab at the hospital last week and that was yeouch. Thanks for the reassurance all

I felt it go it but had no after symptoms at all. No bad arm or feeling tired / unwell. Also had Phizer. Total opposite to flu jab. Felt like I had been shot in the arm x

It’s nothing to do with pregnancy. Sometimes injections hurt, sometimes you can just feel them, sometimes you can’t. It depends whether the needle touches any pain receptors in your skin. Also if your attention is elsewhere you’re less likely to notice it.

Exactly the same experience today. I've never had an injection that was 100% painless before!

SarahB88 · 06/11/2023 17:04

Had mine over a week ago along with the flu one and both were totally painless. Following day the covid arm was a bit sore and stayed like that for a few days, nothing at all with the flu arm.

I thought I might have been floored after the vaccines with being pregnant but nothing at all other than the slightly sore arm from the covid one.

Bumblingonby · 06/11/2023 17:07

All good to know thanks. I've got a tiny ache in the arm now which has satisfied me that it actually went in. I feel like I should congratulate the pharmacist as that was the most pleasant jab I ever had😄 I thought maybe pregnancy might make the immune response lower and less symptoms but when i had the flu one last week I still couldn't lie on that side for 3 days so here's hoping it stays minimal

The flu vaccine is more viscous than the Covid vaccine so needs a bigger needle. That's why it's more painful.
