Lots of water- you might want to take a bottle. I flew Virgin to the US and they had a water dispenser with those tiny cone shaped cups. If you buy a bottle (once you're through the security) you can refill it if that's all they have.
An inflateable pillow for your back - they have cushions and blankets but it could help.
Def. get flight socks.

went to Far East when I was 3 mths pregnant and mw recommended drinking plenty of water and flight socks (you can buy some cheap ones from ASDA). Also mentioned to take your maternity notes and make sure you have the address/numbers of the nearest hospital.

Oooh, check your travel insurance. Make sure they know you're pregnant and that it will cover any related medical costs e.g. an ultrasound if you tripped and fell. If they don't know you're pregnant I think that it could technically invalidate the policy- they could refuse to pay for say a plaster cast on a broken leg even though it's completely unrelated, because of non-disclosure.

Not trying to curse you. Am sure you will remain intact.

take some snacks too in case you don't fancy the plane food

I travelled to Miami at 14 weeks. I bought flight socks at Boots. I also mentioned being pg to the airline before our flight date to ask specifically for an aisle seat so I could get up and down. You will need to tell your insurance that you are pg too to make sure you are covered.

Tell the stewardess as well and ask him/her for lots of water. I ended up with the little half litre bottles that you get in business/first class instead of having a little cup filled that lasts about 3 mouthfuls!

Fortunately, we were upgraded to business class coming back but keep walking around and take some snacks with you too.

Have a great time!

how preggers are you?? I flew to oz when 12 weeks preg. was fine, drank lots (of water!), did leg exercises and lots of walks. also told the airline when checking in and got the aisle/ em exit seats which have more room. bought some support stockings from M and S I think, then washed them and lost one from the hotel balcony, so had to buy some more for the journey home!!! got really swollen ankles the night after arriving, though, but it was new years eve!

why should the NHS provide stockings for you?? you can afford (and choose) to fly!

hi ya ummfulaan

i also tried to get them from the gp but they would not give me them .

i got them from a chemist .

i went to tenerife at 25 weeks drank water and wore the socks .
i also did feet exercises and was advised to walk about every hour .
they say when your drinking loads of water you will have to go to the loo loads so that will make you get up and walk about

i came home with really swollen feet and ankles and looked like i was ready to pop !!

dont know if it was the flying or the heat but look after yourself and have a good holiday i would love one

I'm doing an 11 hour flight at 22 weeks and my GP has told me to wear flight socks, drink plenty of water and walk about as often as poss.

As for the socks, they're £1.99 in local chemists, boots for example.

I've just flown around the world, 6 flights in 24 days and am 22 weeks pregnant. I rang the airlines and put in a request for extra legroom, they were very accommodating. You might want to take some homeopathic arnica for jet lag, it really helped me. If you eat, drink and move enough, you'll be fine but do make sure you wear the flight socks! Have a wonderful time.
