Microwave Steriliser

Hi all. I am hoping to breastfeed but also making basic plans for bottles to be safe. If i buy a simple microwave steriliser like the tommee tippee one can I use any bottles in it? Will it also do breast pump parts? My kitchen counters don't really have space for a larger unit so hoping a microwave one will work! Also open to suggestions for a brand or model or an alternative.. It doesn't have to be tommee tippee

Hey MAM bottles are self sterilising so you pop them in the microwave following the instructions. They are fantastic. Unsure about the Tommee Tippee microwave steriliser but with my son we bought one and it was too big for the microwave when we got home from hospital😅 I was very silly to not check just assumed it would fit. But definitely recommend MAM overall and maybe Milton for breast pump parts .

Thank you! I'll check out the Mam bottles. and measure the microwave! I would never have thought of that.. If I end up mostly or fully bottle feeding I will find space for a sterilising unit

We had the tommee tippee microwave steriliser for pump parts and bottles. We then also bought the mam bottles which are self sterilising which were great but I still had to use the microwave steriliser to do the pump parts in order to use the bottles! The steriliser was great, really easy to use but as PP said quite big and only just fit in our microwave so definitely worth checking!

I exclusively breastfeed but on the odd occasion I'm away from baby I'll pump so my partner can feed her. We use mam bottles because they are easy to sterilise in a normal microwave. For pump parts, I use Milton tablets in cold water. They are super cheap and sterilise in 10 or 15 minuets (I usually leave it longer for convenience so not exact on that!).

If I bottle fed I'd probably get a proper steriliser but if you aren't sure which way it'll go, I'd get some mam bottles and Milton tablets.

I ebf all 3 dc but did pump for nights off etc.

Didn't have a steriliser at all, just put the pump parts and occasional bottles through the dishwasher as was recommended.
