Gallstones and pregnancy

I am in hell! 37 weeks pregnant and having a gallstone flare up. If you haven't suffered with gallstones imagine labour x10. Horrendous pain in abdomen which radiates through to my back and constant vomiting.
Has anyone got any experience on how to deal with the intense pain? Before I was pregnant I used to take strong co-codamol (Zapain) prescribed by the doctor. Would I be able to take sparingly?
Apparently on a waiting list to have gallbladder removed but heard nothing since pregnancy, maybe I'm removed? Strangely I haven't suffered all the way through my pregnancy until this point but I'm really struggling so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated x

So sorry to read this, it really is the worst pain ever! I had it badly during my pregnancy, luckily it was removed 7 weeks post partum as I ended up in A+E on morphine. I had 4 awful flare ups in pregnancy but couldn’t take any meds, I had to resort to lying with a hot water bottle until it passed. I really had to cut down my food intake, I ate very small amounts of zero fat food to try and avoid an attack which did work to an extent. I hope it passes for you soon and maybe call the waiting list office of your local hospital to check you are still on their list to have it out x

Thank you for your reply Rubi2
I am trying to watch what I eat. I think maybe not so much lately because I thought I was getting away with it! No such luck! I've just spoken to my doctors and waiting for a GP to call me back. Apparently my referral was cancelled back in Feb, not sure why. Baby due in 3 weeks so hopefully go on the waiting list and won't be too long. I think I could cope if I know something is happening and it will be done eventually xxx

No real helpful advice but my god we are in the same boat. I’m 37 weeks too with gallstones that are ready to attack at any point. So done with being pregnant and every crappy symptom that comes with it 😭😭 like PP said I’ve had to just ride them out whilst pregnant (never had issues prior to pregnancy) and I’m definitely going private to get the buggar out ASAP once baby is born.

Oh Yarnie I feel your pain. I did look into going privately myself before I was pregnant. Paid £200 for consultation but was over £6000 for the surgery and I just do not have that kind of money to hand. Feeling very fed up with pregnancy also, I know people mean well but if 1 more person says 'not long now' I think I'm going to scream!😣🤣

Oh wow £6000 😱 I have luckily got health insurance which should cover it with an excess 🤞🏽gosh I know tell me about it. 3 weeks in pregnancy is like 3 months. I’ve got hyperemesis and it’s been the most miserable 9 months of my life!! Praying our little ones make an appearance soon!
