if i OV quite late in cycle and you can test from day you due on (or earlier in some cases) what is the earliest i could test? Because if I OV less than 2 weeks before period due would it be too early day im due on?

I think most tests now work from 10 days after ovulation onwards to I would take it from that. Good luck I am hoping for a BFP in the next week or so.

If you know you OV'd late, then ignore original due date!

although we tend to calculate a 'due date' ni our minds according to previous cycles, you are only actually due around 14 days after you ovulate.

The 14 days is called the Luteal Phase and many people have longer or shorter, but around 14 days is normal.

If you know when you ov'd then count 14 days forward from then, and you have a truer due date.

oh but one other Q. You dont get pg the same day you OV though do you? It can take a day or so cant it? So does the 14 days still ring true?

I spend far too much time finding out about this stuff!!

THe 14 days should take into account the time it takes sperm to get o fallopian tube, meet egg, then travel down to implant in womb. Generally implantation occurs 7-10 days after OV, and it takes around 48hrs to metabolise HcG so that it can be detected in urine.

The main problems arise because (aside from accurate temping) we only know when our bodies are getting ready to OV, and not the exact moment when we do OV!!

But, no, not everyone has a 14 day LP!!
