I'm 14 weeks pregnant and we were dead set on Daisy Olivia to begin with, however now looking into it we both love the names; Ariella Mae and Arabella Mae also. Any thoughts on any of these names?

We have a strong feeling its a girl however, we don't find out the gender for another 3 weeks and are already set on a boy name if it's a boy.

Daisy Olivia is nice, I’m not keen on Ariella personally and would avoid Mae as it’s massively overused.
Just to mention, you might get more responses if you post on the baby names forum.

Daisy Olivia is lovely and so is arabella but I prefer it as a stand alone name. I feel like names paired with mae, Rae etc are very common and overused and you'll probably find there loads with the same when your little one eventually starts nursery, my DD is 4 and there are 5 something mae/rae's that I can think of off the top of my head in her nursery class.

All the first names are fine, but don't use "Mae" as a middle name. It's a completely generic middle name which a billion other children have got. Can you think of something that has family significance, say, or which is just a name that you love?

Anyflippingname · 22/10/2023 15:39

I only like Arabella.

Ariella sounds like an illness/areola.

Anyflippingname · 22/10/2023 15:40

Agree Mae is massively overused and not to my taste at all but it's not my baby!

PickledScrump · 22/10/2023 15:53

Daisy Olivia is lovely, not keen on the others

OverTheCountryClub · 22/10/2023 15:59

Daisy Olivia is lovely! I know quite a few Arabellas born recently but haven't met a little Daisy for ages. Also Mae is so popular and has been for ages - year 7s and 8s in the school where I work are all Name Mae/May, often with a hyphen.

theduchessofspork · 22/10/2023 16:02

I like Arabella
Ariella is too Disney
Daisy is a bit babyish but it’s OK

Don’t use May in the middle, it’s such a filler

BoohooWoohoo · 22/10/2023 16:04

I would avoid Mae as a middle name. It's this generation's equivalent of Louise when I was growing up.
I prefer Daisy to the other names. I'm not a fan of Ariella as it makes me think of the aerola. Would you mind being asked if you are a fan of Disney's Little Mermaid Ariel? I don't know if real life people called Ariel get the washing powder jokes.

I don't like Daisy because I like grown up sounding names. This probably won't suit you, but Daisy is traditionally a shortening of Margaret-which is a lovely underused name. Margaret, shortened to Daisy when she's little?

I’m in the same boat, having a girl and is unsure of names!! I love Eleanor ❤️ it’s a family name so would be very meaningful. I am called Olivia so love Daisy Olivia 💖 unfortunately a takeaway near me is called arabella so I would have to vote against that one 🙈 good luck in what you choose 💖

TTCbaby2023 · 23/10/2023 10:59

I like Olivia and Arabella on their own. I am not too keen on Daisy and Ariella.
