Wobbly teeth in pregnancy!

Hi all,

For the last couple of weeks my front bottom teeth look wobbly when I wiggle them. I have been to the dentist and she said my gums are totally fine and if there was a problem you would expect to see it in the gums first and if I hadn't had said they were wobbly she probably wouldn't have noticed.

I'm still paranoid over it but ultimately just putting it down to being pregnancy related.

Last night they seem to get worse after brushing but hubby says it's still the same (must be my eyes playing tricks on me!)

Has anyone else had this when they were pregnant? And did they tighten up once baby is born?

Thank you 😊

Hey, I had this while pregnant with my son. I do think we make it seem worse than it is tho! It's obviously a worrying thing but mine ended up fine, my teeth went back to normal when he was born. I just made sure I didn't wobble them myself to not actually losen them. I'm now 15+1 with my second and my gums bleed a lot when I brush, so probably going to happen again for me lol

Oh thank god it's not just me then! I have a thing about my teeth anyway so when I could see them wobbling I was in panic mode!

I'm 25+4 at the minute so hopefully once he's born everything will go back to normal 🤞
Thank you 😊

I’ve had a really strange feeling in my teeth since being pregnant, it almost feels like the feeling you get when you need to crack your fingers🤣

I had braces when pregnant and my orthodontist said that it was great timing because everything gets a bit looser in pregnancy, teeth included!

It's the relaxin I believe!. My teeth went to pieces when o was pregnant. Lost a tooth with each child!

Hey into a good gum care routine now. Use interdental brushes dipped in gum mouthwash. Every day. Don't wobble your teeth.

Yes I had this, went back to normal after I had had each baby and a trip or two to the hygeinist. Because they were loose in pregnancy, and then tightened up again the hygienist said the plaque got trapped and needed cleaning out under the gum line. I did get slight recession with each baby, which stopped in its track post natally however you can't reverse recession so my teeth do seem 'longer' now. I think if I had had any more babies I would have lost teeth ultimately, because I had pregnancy induced gingivitis. It was hormonal, and although I'm sure my dental routine did help it couldn't mitigate the effect of pregnancy completely on my dental health. It's why you get a year of dentistry for 'free' after each baby, because it's knows to cause dental issues.
