For those of you who have had two csections, did you find the recovery harder the second time around?

Yes, same scar. I wouldn't say my 2nd was worse but I think you just have to be mindful with how much you do. I "split" my scar when picking up my then 4 year old a week after a C Section. Totally avoidable aa I just swing her up instead of bending properly. Just listen to your body and take the time to rest when you can

This is so interesting! My second was easier too (but neither was difficult).

I’ve had four! First was the hardest and last the easiest!

I was about to post the exact same thing. Fourth was the easiest!

I wish I had seen this before my second section! I also found the second easier, but both were good. I wonder if it's partly because I was so fit running around after a toddler when I went for the second one...? Plus BF was less painful to get started, so it hurt for a couple of days rather than a month of agony!

Also, I found my toddler really had quite a good understanding of what happened and not to bounce on me or ask to be picked up. I explained that the baby was fully grown and the doctors would cut my tummy to get the baby out, so it would be a bit sore but exciting. He has even acted out a section on a teddy more than once...

Due my second C-section in 3 or 4 weeks and this thread has really calmed me 😀

Not for me.

Absolutely easier. Firstly I wasn't in labour second time round. I also knew what to expect so was prepared , and didn't over do it when I started to feel a bit better, which set me back the first time. It was amazing really how quickly I recovered.

I had 3, 1st was worst as emergency after long labour, in hospital for 10 days . Next 2 both elective & home after 4 days (longer op due to scarring from 1st op so kept in day extra) - 3rd on Fri, home sun & walked both DS to 1st day at school & nursery on Mon.

Seems I'm in the minority but I've had 3 sections and I found each one more painful to recover from. The first one was fine
