Storing ready made formula in hospital bag in car?

Just wanted some opinions.
My hospital bag has been ready for few weeks, containing 2x boxes of ready made formula with teats. We went to an event one day and I put the bags in the car in case we had to dash, the temp in the car got to around 22 maybe 23c at its peak. The boxes are in a zipped up suitcase.

I left the bags in the car after this as the temperature has dropped and it's actually cooler than in my house but obviously does fluctuate overnight and through the day.

DH says we should bin it and buy more because of it being in a car for a few weeks. I think it'll be fine. The storage instructions say store in a cool, dark, dry place.

Will this be alright or should I replace it? I'm unlikely to bring them back in now as current observations have suggested I may need to be induced any day now. For comparison my house is kept above 20c through the day.

I would bin. It’s the extreme fluctuations in temperature that are likely to cause issue so it’s not something I’d want to feed a baby.
Over 20 degrees is pretty hot in your house though, they would be cooler if kept in a cupboard rather than just in a room if your house is so warm.

I wouldn't bin them. They have been heat treated already and are sterile.

That’s not the issue.

Heat and cold can degrade the nutrients in formula, so keep unopened liquid and powdered formula in a cool place.

I would bin, for a newborn baby I wouldn't risk anything

Thanks folks, I'll get some more.

They are stored in a cupboard at home but the house tempted is 20c

They will be absolutely fine. People seem to forget about how things are stored and transported before you buy them. Unnecessary waste is a much bigger issue

I would bin it as I agree with the majority, fluctuations in temp will affect the formula. Also rule of thumb is you should store it similar to how it's stored in the supermarkets - they're cool inside for a this reason. Most food items are also transported this way in cooler/insulated trucks. Also your baby is more important than a little bit of waste, that's the bigger picture here!
