Which baby swing?

I am due baby #3 at the end of October and I didn’t have a baby swing with DD1 and 2, but feel like I’d quite like one so I have my hands free sometimes for DD2 who won’t be 2 when #3 is born.
I admired my friend’s Maxi Cosi Cassia, but I don’t know if I can justify £200 for a swing that I can’t even guarantee baby would like.

It is on offer on Amazon at the min for £170, but it still feels like a lot to spend.

is it worth it, or can anyone recommend any other swings that do the job for less?!

See what you can get second hand. They’re not meant to be in them for too long at a time, around 20 minutes, and not supposed to sleep in them so not worth spending a lot. My second hated stuff like swings and bouncers too so there’s a risk of it being a total waste of money.

I really recommend this one. We used it for both Dad's and they both liked it. You can turn the seat so it swings forwards/backwards or side to side, has white noise, night light and vibrating seat. You can remove the seat and use as a rocker which was fab to jump into the shower. It's also on wheels and fits through doors. I recommend it to everyone! Boots have an offer on just now.

Also battling with this as I know babies can be fussy what they like. Can you try your friends when baby arrives and see if they are a fan?

Mine hated her electric swing, loved the baby bjorn.
Both were brought 2nd hand for around £50 each.
My friend tried my electric one and her baby loved it. So sadly you won't know until they are here.

Definitely agree with the joie serina 2 in 1. Have a look at the jollytots website or Facebook page, I got mine much cheaper on there. It’s fab. Gutted I only found it with my third, and final, baby!

We had a 4moms mamaroo swing which was great but spendy. Would definitely look at getting whichever swing you go for second hand though, they really don't use them for long

We had a nuna leaf one on loan from a friend for our second.....he was very happy in it. Basic bouncer type ones for our first. Equally happy on a play mat or in a travel cot - again a nuna adjustable height one.

Another vote for the mamaroo. I used mine with both children and sold it second hand for £90 still in perfect condition with the newborn insert. I’d definitely look second hand x

We had a mamaroo and a babybjorn bouncer and preferred the bouncer. It’s light so you can carry it around and just bounce with your foot while cooking etc. I bought both from Facebook marketplace.

We didn’t have a swing with DD1, but was pretty sure nursery used a swing to help get her to sleep when she was little. So for DD2 I picked up a Mamaroo secondhand off FB marketplace and so far am glad I did! It’s been a big help and I’ll sell it on again when she outgrows it. It is pretty bulky compared to other swings, but suits what we need right now despite this.

DS is 6 months old now and I went for the Joie Serena, which he will happily sit in for short periods of time.

My main problem is stopping his older sister climbing in it or swinging him like he’s in a pirate ship …

I just had an ordinary bouncer chair for ds, it was so handy during the day so I could get stuff done. It was the only place he would sleep & we ended up putting the chair in his cot at night when he was tiny.
