Hi everyone,

At my scan today (20 weeks 2 days), they told me I have a high left uterine artery Doppler reading at 2.04.
I’m really worried and really really terrified of restricted growth and pre-eclampsia.

Would really love to hear anyones experiences with this.

thanks

That's lovely 😊 I have an anterior placenta too and like you it took time to feel proper movement!

@LuneDArgent our pregnancies are very similar! Nice to know I’m not alone with some of these things ❤

@Lilo2 Had a growth scan on Friday at 28 weeks. Baby on about 45th centile which is good.
They refused to do Doppler of cord or uterine arteries as growth is fine.
Was going to phone up to get another scan but not sure if I need to, despite it really upsetting me on the day.
Have another scan at 32 weeks so will see what that brings

Just to update you all, the doctors decided at 34 weeks it was time my baby was better out than in as her blood flow through the cord was showing as absent. She was born by c section at 34 +2 and is doing really well. She didn’t need help breathing and is going from strength to strength. At 1 week old we breastfed for the first time today! She will have a short stay in special care while she puts on a bit of weight as she was a dinky 2lb 15oz when she was born. Her growth scans put her at below the scale! So your 45th centile result is fantastic!!

@Redpanda21 thank you so much for letting me know how you’re getting on and I’m so pleased for you that they are happy with the growth. It’s so upsetting so I understand what you’re feeling, but there’s nothing stopping you asking for a 2nd opinion if you want to and having the scan at 32 weeks is really good news too! Great they are keeping a check on you.
I’m so nervous for my 28 week scan but I will let you know how I get on. Will be thinking of you and wishing you the very best with the rest of your pregnancy ❤

@bookbathnap congratulations ❤wonderful news that she was safely delivered and that you are both doing so well. Thank god they were keeping an eye on you and monitoring. Wishing you all the best and hope you are all home soon. Lovely to hear everything went well in the end.
Did they pick it up at a scan? Or did you have to go in due to feeling not right? I know you will be very busy with mum duties, so no pressure to reply ❤

@Lilo2 they picked it up at a growth scan. The ‘absent’ isn’t as bad as it sounds and I believe they usually get the baby out within a week if they find that. It doesn’t mean literally absent 😵‍💫. Thank you for your lovely words 🩷

Lilo2 · 19/12/2023 23:03

@Redpanda21 @LuneDArgent how are you both getting on?
I had a 32 week scan today, everything looking good and baby weighing 4lbs 11oz approx, but consultant said she wanted me to keep in mind the high resistance uterine artery results from 20 weeks still, so likely I will be induced at some point… trying to stay chill about it all as overall good news but I suppose the risk will always be there. Hope everything well with you both and your pregnancies? x

Hi @Lilo2 I'm glad to know everything looks good for you! 😊
I had my last growth scan on Monday at 36+3 and all is well too! Baby is growing well, 6lbs 5ozs, and no sign of pre eclampsia.
Not long to wait now for me hopefully!

Redpanda21 · 20/12/2023 15:01

Also going well so far, BP has stayed down.

I have a scan on Friday at 36 weeks, my scan at 32 weeks estimated baby at 4lb 5oz.

My trust don’t recheck dopplers unless growth has slowed.

Hoping all is still well and baby stays put for at least Christmas and new year!
