3rd baby and we've decided to have a surprise for babies sex! We found out with our previous two DC so this is all new. Due next week and suddenly realised I don't know how I want to be told. Do I want my husband to tell me? Do I want to hold the baby and check myself? Will the midwife reveal it?

It's a planned c section for various medical reasons if that makes a difference. Please tell me how you found out at birth!

I lifted baby out of the pool myself and held them immediately so it was about 10 minutes before anyone thought that we should look and see 😂😂

The anaesthetist let it slip! I really didn't mind by that point though.

It was an emergency c-section at 5am and they held the baby up. I was a bit dazed/overwhelmed so for some reason I didn’t look and my husband did and said it’s a boy.

I’ve looked myself all 4 times, I’ve explicitly put on the birth plan that only DH or I can say.

I also cut my own umbilical cord the last 2 times and have been the first person to touch all of my children too.
