Meeting perinatal tomorrow

I've got a meeting with them.

Last few times haven't been to good as I keep on getting asked "what do I want". I have no idea what they offer, what I need etc.

New baby due soon, older mum and no support.

Disaster.

I'm just thinking I should allow the baby to be adopted.

They are coming to my house as well :(

I just don't know what to say.

I keep on getting told/feel judged to take anti depressants but the only time I've had severe suicidal issues was on them.

I had a meeting with the doctor because I want a c section (various reasons) and was judged about my stomach acid medication, telling me I should be taking more. The side effects are horrific and I don't have acid any more. But it makes me vomit food and I had that enough with morning sickness for 22 weeks.

Just feel like im always being judged and have no choice in the care:

I had some support from community mental health but they don't have enough staff.

Hi ,

I had perinatal and the home visit may just be to explain what they do actually offer, I found them to be very very helpful.

From 6 weeks they had their nursery nurse come and do baby massage sessions with me and baby, and they also had their nursery nurse help along the way when it got further on with weaning ect - and they show you bonding exercises to do with bub incase you are struggling -

Try and be open with them, they won't judge you and if you feel they are you can always ask for a new worker assigned if you are struggling to work with them xx

Good luck, you'll be great x

There was a thread a while ago about a mum considering relinquishing her baby for adoption (although in the end she didn't do so). 35 weeks pregnant, how to put baby up for adoption www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4756128-35-weeks-pregnant-how-to-put-baby-up-for-adoption

You have to be mindful that adoption tends to bring out the 'you're doing a wonderful thing' types and there are some comments like that in the thread. Adoption may or may not be right for you, but it always involves a huge amount of trauma for all involved.

It sounds like you need support - if you haven't already I would let the perinatal team know that this is something you are considering.

Thanks.

I just feel too overwhelmed for support.

It's my fault I didn't abort. It's my issue. I just feel like I'm going to get blamed and I made my bed etc.
