Hi all 👋🏻 6 weeks pregnant with my second here. Last time I found out extremely late, this time super early. I'm interested on how people's pregnancies were different for them? Like symptoms, how soon did you start to show with your second, that sort of thing Smile

Currently 15 weeks with second. So far the symptoms kicked in much sooner - just knew I was pregnant before testing 🙈 Bed bound during the first trimester turns out it was HG which I did have in first preg but didn’t know what it was as never seeked help. Thought it was just part & parcel of pregnancy 🤦🏾‍♀️ much worse than the first pregnancy it was beyond dreadful. Currently have awful heartburn / indigestion again way more intense than first pregnancy and has a started much sooner! Much more sluggish than the first pregnancy too & achey 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣 I am heavier than first pregnancy though I lost 2 stone before trying so I don’t think the extra weight is helping me this time round.I don’t know if it’s a bump or excess weight at this point 🤣 good luck OP

2nd pregnancy was an absolute breeze for me. No symptoms at all and felt great all the way through. I had really bad bloating from 4 weeks that made me look about 6 months pregnant and it never went away just eventually turned into a baby bump. Luckily it was during covid so I didn’t see many people as obviously made it hard to hide. Currently pregnant with number 3 and it’s so much harder. Every pregnancy has been completely different for me, all are girls.

I didnt notice with my second. I only realised as it occured to me one day that Id missed a couple of periods. I was about 13 weeks when the lightbulb came on! ( to be fair I was in a state of permanent exhaustion with a 2 year old who wasnt sleeping through still.)
With my first I knew very early on as my boobs were incredibly sore.

Thanks ladies! Interesting to read. So far I just have very sore boobs/sensitive nipples and a few cramps. Am also very tired but have a 2 year old who thinks 4.30/5am is a great time to start the day at the moment Hmm

I had some mild nausea with my second, whereas I had none at all with my first.

In both pregnancies I had light spotting/bleeding throughout the first trimester but this went on for longer with my first, continuing up till about 19 weeks.

With my first I had irritable uterus - Braxton-Hicks contractions starting at 16 weeks and by 19 weeks being literally constant every few minutes - we're talking 100s of contractions a day. Fortunately they weren't painful and depending on my position I barely noticed them, but they led to a premature birth at 33 weeks. With my second I had intermittent periods of contractions starting from 23 weeks but they weren't constant like with the first. Baby was born at 38 weeks.

Otherwise honestly the pregnancies were quite similar and both quite easy. My main symptom early on was sore nipples. I carried easily without much pain or discomfort, etc.

The labours and births were very different but at least they were both very quick and straightforward!

First pregnancy and I had hypermeresis and although it improved a lot after the first trimester, I was still sick the whole 9 months. I was anticipating the same for my second pregnancy and found out early that it was twins, so additional hormones - yet with that one I only had 'normal' morning sickness! The other big difference was pelvic girdle pain - none for my first pregnancy, lots for my second.

Everything else was pretty similar. Bad acid reflux in the 3rd trimester. No swelling of hands or feet whatsoever (even with the twins, I could still tie my own shoes with ease at full term!)

My first pregnancy was a doddle - not much if any nausea, no food aversions, loved all the usual same foods some cravings for others. This time around (second) I have had bad nausea, so many food aversions I’ve lost count, but I’m having a different gender this time so that could be why x
