Hard or soft bump?

I’m 17 weeks pregnant and have a definite bump. But it’s not solid, does this mean I’ve just put on weight so it’s a layer of fat rather than a bump? I just noticed someone post their bump at 24 weeks and mine is so much bigger, I think it might just be fat…

Everyone’s bump is different, you’d only expect it to be hard if baby was right at the front, otherwise you wouldn’t expect it to feel solid, remember apart from the baby there’s waters in there which won’t be solid.

You'll be much bigger at 24 weeks compared to 16/17, don't worry.

Your uterus is peeking over your pelvis and is still below the level of your belly button. The bump above that is all your organs being rearranged and pushed out of the pelvis, so they’re squishy.

you can probably feel where your uterus starts - press your belly with a flat hand, starting at your belly button and working your way down until you feel a more solid feeling smooth rounded lump. That’s your uterus!

it’s all still pregnancy bump rather than fat and weight gain - your body is just changing to accommodate your growing baby. Feels much more solid when the top of your uterus has reached your diaphragm 🥴
