Haven’t been taking Omega-3 DHA

Hi!
I’m midway through my second trimester and haven’t been taking Omega-3 supplements and haven’t been told to by my midwife. I have been taking Pregnacare Original with Folic Acid which obviously they did mention.
I do eat fish but probably not as much as I should - and I went off it completely during my morning sickness.
I do eat relatively well, including chia seeds most days and try to eat nuts regularly, but have seen these natural sources contain the “wrong” type of Omega-3 - whereas the NHS website mentions them (along with nuts etc) as sources of Omega-3 instead of Fish.
I am looking at fish oil supplements but feel overwhelmed trying to check they don’t contain fish liver oil - nothing seems to categorically say “this doesn’t contain fish liver oil” so I’m unsure.
Has anyone else had this sudden worry? Have you found any brands that are definitely only fish oil?
I would ask my midwife but I’m in between midwives as one has gone on Mat Leave and I am awaiting my new one to return from Mat Leave.
I am trying not to worry about it, having read studies suggest it’s good to take fish oil supplements from 20 weeks onwards, or more so in the third trimester when the baby’s brain grows so much - so not too late I hope!
NB. I have stocked up in Pregnacare Original already!

I took the Minami prenatal DHA capsules during my pregnancy. They have a postnatal one for breastfeeding mums too.

I’ve just started taking Superdrug own brand omega 3,6+9. Avoid cod liver oil but they have warnings on saying pregnant women shouldn’t take them due to the vitamin A. This is my third pregnancy and first time I’ve taken any, never had any issues with previous pregnancies. Only thing you need to make sure you are taking after 12 weeks is vitamin D.

Am I the only person who didn't even know this was a thing?

I was taking vital DHA already. Pregnancare Max has omega 3 capsules included.

I've had 2 babies and this is the first I've heard of it.

OP pretty sure all will be well even if you don't take the supplements.

I'd try to exchange the Pregnacare you're stocked up on for the Max version with DHA. Don't just buy omega-3 as, as you said, that's are actually to be avoided in pregnancy. If in doubt, ask the pharmacists, they've been really helpful when I had the same dilemma.

I have also started in second trimester so should be okay to start now.

Nope me too. I just took normal pregnacare throughout my last pregnancy

Thank you everyone :)
From what I understand if you have a diet with 2 lots of oily fish a week then you may not need any supplements with DHA Omega-3. I’m just worried that I might not be getting enough of the right stuff - especially when I thought I was eating other types of beneficial Omega-3, but they appear to be the ALA Omega-3s. And supplements really didn’t even cross my mind.
On the flip side - there are {apparently} also studies which show too much DHA can cause babies to have larger heads!
