If I'm going to have a fourth baby, I want another home water birth. Is there any reason why m/w might be worried?

I'm sure with my last birth dc3 the m/w produced the hospital guidelines, which listed among other things contraindications for a home water birth.
These included multiple birth, breech, GD, infections, but also weirdly enough, if it was a fourth or greater pg.
Is this right? I can't find anything online to support this (college of m/w etc)
Why might a fourth birth be a contraindication?

can't imagine any reason why you couldn't have a homebirth.,
hatrick is having one for her 4th

haven't heard of that one either. I got refused a water birth as i had strepB in first pg, so ab's during labour with the other two, all understandable.
Have no idea why having a fourth child should rule you out of the pool... will watch this thread!

BTW, I am convinced my friend having her 5th baby went in the pool for the labour, just chose to deliver out of it

SC- i have heard this as well but cant find it online either. If I remember correctly 4th or more labours are classed as higher risk but not sure

I had a homebirth booked for my number 4 (didn't happen but that is another story) Was told I could stay in bath for as long as I wanted but MW not happy about delivery in water (though I am not sure how they could stop you!)

littlelamb they've told me that the last twice and I just said well i'm giving birth in the pool if that's what feels right at the time and you can always stand outside if you don't agree!

They don't have any evidence of risks if the mother is healthy and there are no foetal concerns, it's usually said ime in response to a lack of training.

The research done years ago into risks associated with home births (not water) in multipara's relates to grand multipara's and not allow for age or maternal health in it's findings. he original concerns surrounded placental abruption and p/p haemhorrage.

Recent studies replicating the old stuff showed no further risks associated if pg was classed as grand m/p provided mother and baby were low risk.

Yes, in fact my midwive was really supportive of homebirth and terribly disappointed when it didn't happen! She told me she would be happy to deliver my fifth at home when I was considering TTC again.
