Anterior Placenta

Hi to all that May read this and can put my mind at ease,

I'm currently 18 weeks & 3 days pregnant.
I went for a 16 week gender scan and I was told I have an anterior placenta AND an amniotic sheet. I've already got a 4 year old daughter and I could feel her move from 16 weeks so I'm finding that this pregnancy I've worried as I've felt a little pressure and some little bubble feelings which I'm putting down to movements. I feel like I've felt three strong kicks over the last 3 weeks but I doubt it when I don't feel much after. When did people with an anterior placenta start feeling their little one move? And did the strength vary each time. Just so I can put my mind at ease a little

TIA

I had anterior place by with DC 2&3 movement felt very different to ds1 … with Ds2 I didn’t feel movement until 21 weeks and even then because it was very grimy and centre / low I barely felt him it was stressful but I did grow to understand my own own body and his movements. Dd I started feeling movement by 18 weeks but it was more to the side and not low lying this time so I felt more movement in general

I started feeling very very faint movement around 18/19 weeks, but so faint I wasn’t convinced it was the baby and it was only every few days or so.

It took until 22 weeks to get a proper kick and even then it comes and goes so some days I’ll barely feel anything.

At 23 weeks I can occasionally feel her moving with my hand / see my stomach moving, but some days it’s fainter.

So I wouldn’t worry at all - what you’re describing sounds very normal.

I have an anterior placenta and it is very different to my first pregnancy. I only feel movement if it's very low down as anywhere else baby is kicking placenta. Now I've further along I feel rolls rather than kicks. You get used to the normal for this pregnancy touch.

I felt movements at about 22 weeks with an anterior placenta. And yes the strengths do vary a lot.

On the day on my 20 week scan!

I felt his first movements the day after my 20 week scan, little bugger! I was convinced something was wrong.

Thankyou so much for your reply ladies, it gives me a lot of reassurance. Fingers crossed I feel more soon. Although I know she's in there due to scans I almost feel like i'm just gaining a belly and feel a little disconnected from her in there as not able to feel much if that makes sense.

Hopefully not too long now… I know exactly what you mean about feeling disconnected.
It’s so nice and reassuring once you can feel them moving around.

It was after 20 weeks. Even then I was in and out of hospital a lot for reduced movement. Was induced at 37+6. Hoping this pregnancy it’s not the same as it was so stressful. Good luck 🤞🏾
