Normal Body Lotions/Creams in Pregnancy

Hi all.
I’m 17 weeks pregnant and have been moisturising my bump, hips etc religiously since about 12 weeks… but have just had a thought questioning if I should have changed my body cream/lotion. I have just been finishing or using body creams and lotions that I had in the house already. I haven’t had a rash, felt itchy or anything like that, and none of these body creams have retinoids in them. The NHS website doesn’t say not to use usual perfumed body cream that I can see. When I need to buy some I was planning on getting cocoa butter… not sure if I am worrying unnecessarily as a first time mum!??
(Face care I have changed - this is body care specific)

Worrying totally unnecessary! You’ll be fine :)

You’ll be fine. I worried about this with my first because I came up in a rash but it was simply because my skin was more sensitive. Second time round it wasn’t a worry and I carried on with whatever moisturiser and body creams I had. I’d carry on!

There are some you can’t use in pregnancy, but chances are your one will be ok. Check the packing to see if it says anything.

No harm in getting a natural one op - Lavera basis sensitive all round cream is pretty good - cheapest on Amazon subscribe and save.

Thank you all. Am trying to avoid Dr Google, but I figured if it was a big deal midwives would have said so and there would be something on the NHS list of dos and don’ts.
