Flu 15 weeks pregnant

Currently 15 nearly 16 weeks pregnant and woke up this morning with awful flu like symptoms. Extreme body aches, hot then cold, headache, blocked nose etc.

After googling it I'm absolutely terrified as a lot of website say flu can cause miscarriage or birth defects in baby.
I know the chances probably aren't high but I've been feeling movements the same time for the last week and they seem to have stopped today.

Has anyone experienced flu while pregnant and should I be calling anyone for advice?

Flu rates are very low at present, covid much higher.

Have you tested for covid, which can present with flu-like symptoms?

I think you should look after yourself at home as you normally would, but if you think you are becoming more unwell or if there is anything else you want advice on, then ring your MW or GP for advice

All these can be symptoms of a bad cold or covid which are far more likely than flu at this time of year. If you’re worried call your midwife, otherwise lots of fluids and paracetamol if you need it. Colds tend to hit you a lot harder during pregnancy, I’ve had one for 3 weeks now and it’s really knocked me about. Google is not a pregnant woman’s friend

I had Covid and the midwife told me to make sure I don't have a fever, as that's the biggest problem. So regular doses of paracetamol to keep it under control. And lots of fluids.

If you're worried I'd give them a call or text and see what they suggest for you

I’m just getting over a cold/flu virus and am also 15 weeks. Knocked me ill but ok now. I didn’t have a temperature though. Just took paracetamol when I needed it and kept my fluids up. You will be fine but if you feel really poorly it can’t harm giving your midwife a ring and seeing what they advise.
