I'm 26+6 and I've gained 22lbs. I'm 36 and this is my first. I was size 8-10 pre-pregnancy. I feel that I've gained far too much and as I have nothing to compare it to, I don't know what to do 😞

I gained more that that! If you have another you’ll think you were slim. Talk to your midwife if worried. Remember, you were slim to begin with. Also I had a massive placenta too. Try not to worry and just enjoy it all.

I put on 2-3 stone in each pregnancy and lost the weight after. Don’t stress or weigh yourself. Some of that will be baby and placenta weight too. Just eat healthy and try to stay active - walks and swimming are good. Most of all, relax.

Do you know why you've gained so much weight? Are you eating more and exercising less? Once you've put the weight on in pregnancy there's not a lot you can do, but if you monitor your eating and find yourself snacking a lot more, or just generally consuming unnecessary calories, you can at least watch your diet from now on. Lots and lots and lots of fresh fruit and veggies, lean protein, ditch the junk and sugar filled snacks. I was also size 8/10 and gained exactly 14lbs during my first pregnancy - baby was 6.5lbs, then there's the placenta and fluid. Similar during second pregnancy. No excess weight once you'd subtracted weight of baby and placenta etc. However, it was HARD. I was in the gym 4 days a week. Walked miles a day. Barely touched a biscuit or piece of chocolate for 9 months. But I admit I was slightly obsessive!

Most women gain weight - most women lose it again. So long as your MW isn't worried about your weight then just try not to focus on it - whilst at the same time trying to eat healthily!

I gained 37lb in pregnancy, and was still 22lb heavier than pre-pregnancy at my 6 week postpartum check.

Now 5 months postpartum and still 11lb heavier but the weight is starting to come off quite quickly now.

I wouldn't worry too much, just don't indulge too heavily in the chocolate cravings (easier said than done!) and get back on the exercise and healthy eating once you've settled in to mum life.

Don't worry op. I was size 8 when got pregnant with eldest and gained 2 stone in total in my that pregnancy and 4 stone in my second! It fell off effortlessly each time after the birth and in fact I'm now half a stone lighter than I was before I had kids! Kids are 5 and 1.5.

Just eat whatever you want or need to. Weight gain is HEALTHY, natural and normal. Talk to your midwife if you're worried.

Typo - I gained 3 stone in first pregnancy not 2
