Did it take you longer to conceive baby number 2 compared to your first?

DC1 7/8 months

Currently pregnant with DC2 and took around 13 months

TinyTeacher · 31/08/2023 23:02

2nd cycle for DC1. 18 months next time round (was diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility - rock bottom progesterone and a ridiculously short luteal phase). 1st cycle for current pregnancy - bit of a surprise!

First month each time, I have 3 children, I did miscarry between the second and third child, but fell pregnant again right away thankfully. We didn't actually do anything special other than have sex obviously! A lot of it is luck but I do think general health and age has a lot to do with it. I was between 31 and 36 when I got pregnant, I miscarried aged 36, I do think my age had a lot to do with that.

My second was an accident, we had sex once in two months due to incompatible schedules. I got pregnant.

First - stopped pill around new year, found out we were expecting in May so.. 4 months.

Second stopped the pill in august - found out in January - 5 months.

mondaytosunday · 31/08/2023 23:25

No about the same: four months.

SabrinaThwaite · 31/08/2023 23:57

3 months for No 1.

4 years for No 2.

Alloveragain3 · 01/09/2023 00:22

4 months for 1st baby
5 months next time (sadly ended in a mmc)
Then, 15 months

2chocolateoranges · 01/09/2023 00:29

Fooksticks · 01/09/2023 00:41

About a year and 2 mc.

Dc1 was the first month, but I was early 30s and late 30s with dc2.

Zee1345 · 01/09/2023 17:19

My first baby took 4 months, we tried for a 2nd when she was 11 months old and took 4 months again.
We are having our 3rd and last baby now after a 6 year age gap and we conceived the 1st month of trying.

justme2022 · 01/09/2023 17:29

1st one 1 month. Second was unplanned. We spent 1 night together in 5 month as he was working away and now we have 2 with a 13 month age gap.

Thislife1 · 01/09/2023 17:30

4 months for DC1 and I’m currently pregnant with DC2 after 3 years of trying and 3 miscarriages. I was 37 with DC1 and 40 when I started trying for DC2.

jadey1991 · 01/09/2023 17:34

Cakeorchocolate · 19/10/2023 22:35

Yes.
1st 3 months.
2nd 7.5 years. (Including 6 months of clomid around year 4 with no success.)

eewan · 19/10/2023 22:54

First took just over a year so we fully expected our second to take the same if not longer but fell pregnant the first month of trying

OopsieeDaisy · 20/10/2023 00:22

First took 19 months but that included 16 of NTNP and 3 of actually trying. Second took 4 months trying.

LifeExperience · 20/10/2023 00:27

Three months with first, one night with second.

CICTGIGF · 20/10/2023 00:33

It took me over a year with my first and 2 months with my second. So it was much quicker second time around for me.
