First congratulations I was in the same stunned state having found I was(think to some extent I still am) because having not managed to get pregnant in the 15 years since loosing my daughter despite either trying or not not trying if you understand what I mean

Folic acid
be good to yourself
eat as well as you are able
rest when you can (hard I would say with a 6 month old I found that first trimester exhausting but maybe that was my age

whizz56 · 29/02/2008 20:23

wow congratulations! enjoy your pregnancy but remember to enjoy your dd you are so lucky to have so much all at the same time! Ignore the inevitable "you'll have your work cut out" comments from old biddies. How exciting!

constancereader · 29/02/2008 20:23

Congratulations!

Hopefully your first trimester will be calm and relaxed (as presumably it was in your first pg?). I am also in the first trimester and some determined throwing up means I am all too aware of my state.

Get your dp to give you a lie in as often as possible. You need the rest!

stuffitllama · 29/02/2008 20:31

Congratulations!
So long ago for me that I can't remember a thing except remember to get some sleep. And don't eat raw eggs. But they might have changed that . But get lots of sleep and do your folics.
Gosh I remember that feeling of excitement. Hope you enjoy.

Ooh, you'll have your work cut out.

Congratulations!!! It'll be fab. I was pregnant again when DC1 was 9 months old. And then pregnant again when DC2 was 6 months old. You soon get used to managing more than one and my DCs really enjoy being similar ages.

How you manage them really depends on what they're like, my older children were all good sleepers by the time the next baby arrived so that made life easier. The only advice I'd give is that be prepared that sometimes one child will have to wait - even if they're crying/sulking/starving etc because you can't always do everything at once. As long as they get the attention they need when your hands are free again then nobody will suffer long-term effects. I promise!

Very best wishes!

folic acid, little to no booze, no cigarettes, eat well, rest, drink lots of water

good luck!

expatinscotland · 29/02/2008 20:39

CONGRATULATIONS!

Start those pelvic floor excercises NOW! Sometimes I feel like I'm kicking mine along in front of me. Then I realise it's my boobs.

Seriously though congratulations! You'll be great. Get lots of rest, the first trimester is knackering.

Oooh, congratulations!

Don't worry about the age gap - its hard work when they are tiny, but after about 2 it is brilliant!
