GTT results

Any ladies with experience of Gestational Diabetes that could help please?
I had my GTT last week at 24 weeks. Had midwife appointment this morning and she said I didn’t have GD.
I got home and looked in my book and she wrote my results down as 5.3 fasting and then I was 6.8, 2 hours after the drink. She wrote low risk.
From looking online, my fasting level seems high? Should I ask to be retested?

Just as some background. This is my 3rd child. I’ve been tested for GD every pregnancy and always been told I’ve not had it. However my 1st baby was born big at 9lb 8. My 2nd baby was average at 7lb 8. I am slightly overweight. I also have been struggling with tiredness a lot recently.

Any advice appreciated. Thank you xx

NICE guidelines are anything above 5.7 for fasting and above 7.8 for two hours. So no I wouldn't be pushing for a GD diagnosis based on that.
In any case it'll just tick a box and lead you on a pathway to interventions that you don't need.

PP is incorrect, it’s under 5.4 for fasting so you were only just within range. 6.8 is well within range of 7.8 so you’re ok with that. I’d say you need monitoring probably as if you do have it if very important to make the dietary changes etc and possibly get medication (and fasting levels are largely controlled by hormones so even if you do follow the diet they can remain high). It’s not just a box to tick for interventions it’s vital for your baby’s health IF you do develop GD. GDuk Facebook page is very helpful.
