Still no movement at 23 weeks

I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant with my first and haven't felt baby move at all. I have been told I have an anterior placenta at my 20 week scan but that I should start feel some movements anytime now.

Called the midwife today as I've been worrying about it and they can see me for a heartbeat check but I feel really silly going in now they've told me it's normal with an anterior placenta.

Anyone any stories about how long it took to feel kicks or movements?
Should I just wait for my next midwife appointment in 2 weeks.

Don't wait. Go for a check. You're not being silly.

It's an odd one when you have an anterori placenta. With my first, I probably felt him move about 3 times during my entire pregnancy - I'd be at the midwifes with the doppler on and we could hear him kicking and she was almost in disbelief that I couldn't feel it.

In my second pregnancy I also had one, but I think it must have been in a slightly different place because although I didn't really feel kicks, I could feel movement like wriggles, but only after about 22 weeks and not to any regular pattern.

I'm pregnant at the moment and this time have a previa, but ilthe movements I can feel are so wildly different!!!! Every day for hours!

So, I think basically every pregnancy is different, they are likely to monitor you a little bit more because you won't have the same warning signs of lack of movement, but it is not that uncommon to have a lack of feeling because of an anterior placenta.

I’m 34 weeks with twins and I think I only felt them properly at around 24 weeks with an anterior placenta, and they kept telling me I’d still feel them early because of all the limbs in there. Nope I did not!

I’m 21 and a half weeks with anterior and not felt anything where I’ve thought ‘that’s definitely a kick’.

I could see her moving loads at the 20 week scan and felt zilch so that was reassuring. I also got the heartbeat checked a couple of days ago due to some bleeding and all was fine.

I asked the midwife and she said just come in for anything that’s unusual for you.

So if you’ve never felt movement, that’s fine. The worry is just if you feel it and then it stops.

I with you though, I can’t wait to feel something properly! Some of my friends husbands have felt kicks by now and I’m so jealous!

Thanks everyone, I went in and the midwife found a heartbeat straight away. She wasn't worried at all and said to pop in anytime I was worried

I could have written this. This is my 3rd pregnancy but first with an anterior placenta and the feeling / sensation is just so different. I do feel something but it never really feels like a kick or a punch? It's like I feel swooshes? Im 22 weeks so just a little behind you. So glad that they were happy to see you, that is how it should be 😊

I went for my 20 weeks scan today. Anterior placenta also. Midwife said I can expect to feel something between 23-24 weeks. She wasn't remotely concerned x
