I’ve been bleeding for a few days. I went to EPU yesterday and my cervix was closed and baby had a strong heartbeat on the scan.
today, I’ve been bleeding a bit more and I found this meaty looking tissue on my sanitary pad.
I’m 7 weeks.
I think I know the answer, but is there any hope?
I have a scan tomorrow.
my heart is broken.

I don't know but wanted to just give you gentle hugs.

I had a fair few miscarriages at different weeks (closest to this being 6.5wks) and none of them looked like that.

Could I ask what they did look like please?
im still bleeding but not quite as much as a period and I’ve had no cramps.
I think I’m clutching at straws, but I’ll take whatever straws I can get!

It's hard to explain but slightly darker and a lot smoother. Whatever you've passed looks quite strangely textured.

Obviously I'm no expert or anything but think positive thoughts and try not to stress before your scan tomorrow.

Ttcmumma · 16/08/2023 19:06

This also doesn't look like my miscarriage! Hopefully that's a good thing for you. Glad you're getting checked again tomorrow but for your cervix to be closed and babies heart to be beating yesterday and this not look like what others have passed in miscarriages, you may have hope x

Buttons659 · 16/08/2023 19:22

Thanks ladies. I can press it flat too, it’s kinda shrivelled and bunched in this pic so I thought it might be the sac.
I’m 7 weeks by dates but at scan y’day, baby was measuring 6+2 so this would be a very early miscarriage i guess.
I don’t know if I’m imagining it, but I’m pretty sure my boobs are no longer tender and my nausea is gone. 😥

Do you have any tests lying around? Usually your hcg begins to drop before a miscarriage meaning your result would be atleast a much fainter line by now if this was a miscarriage

HalloumiHo · 16/08/2023 19:26

I'm not sure OP, but wanted to say my thoughts are with you x

Not necessarily. I miscarried at 6.5 weeks. I had passed everything by the time I got my scan and when they took my bloods they were 6500 so that would have been dye stealer territory even though I was no longer pregnant.

Olika · 16/08/2023 19:34

My miscarriage didn't start with anything like what your pic shows. It doesn't look like the sac. However everybody is different of course. For me I suddenly lost all my pregnancy symptoms and started bleeding several days later. With my 2nd pregnancy I did loose my boob tenderness and felt better one day so at that point I freaked out. I went for a private scan and it showed a healthy baby. At this stage try not to stress too much. It's very early in your pregnancy and your scan tomorrow will tell you. Good luck.

Pastapoodles · 16/08/2023 19:41

My miscarriage was darker, more like a fleshy looking bean and smooth. I thought they were the most painful period cramps id ever had but then I passed the above, took one look at it and knew I'd lost a baby I didn't even know I was carrying. There were a few other things too but possibly a bit graphic for some so I'll refrain from mentioning them

Ttcmumma · 16/08/2023 19:54

@Pollywoddles oh wow! I lost my baby at 14 weeks and my tests were completely negative within a few days. I guess everyone's body really does react different!

VicH13 · 16/08/2023 21:29

Mine also looked very different this! I have had 4 all between 6-7 weeks. Lots of deep red blood, smaller darker clots and lots of pain in lower tummy and back - like a bad period. I tested negative only after the bleeding stopped though.

Im not a medical professional but I once passed a decidual cast, this kinda reminds me of that! But unsure if it can occur in pregnancy.

Sending hugs xx

Wozzzzzaa · 16/08/2023 21:31

Sorry you're going through this op 💐 Your pic looks more like a piece of mucus plug than actual tissue.

Fingers crossed for you 🤞

wtawtaw · 16/08/2023 21:36

Just wanted to say hope your scan is a positive one tomorrow, wishing you lots of luck 🍀 have you got cramping too?

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 16/08/2023 21:50

My miscarriage at 7 weeks didn't look like this so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow. I hope it's positive news 🤞🏻

Buttons659 · 16/08/2023 21:55

Thanks all. I did wonder if it could be some kind of uterine material but felt I was clutching at straws. When I lie it flat it’s almost circular and smooth, so I’m immediately thinking it’s a punctured gestational sac and fetus has fallen out.
I don’t have any cramping, but I have had some sharp pains in my side, but quite high up.
im still bleeding fresh red, and I’ve had a few medium sized clots throughout the day, but the bleeding is quite minimal unless I wipe when there seems to be pooling red blood with lots of EWCM type stuff.

Olika · 16/08/2023 22:28

In my opinion it is not gestational sac. The texture, colour and shape is different. I will never forget how mine looked like and that in picture is completely different. But I am not medical expert. I am so glad you have your scan tomorrow so then you know for sure,

Buttons659 · 17/08/2023 11:55

Update. I had my scan, no viable pregnancy found. I still have more tissue to pass too.
Heartbroken.
