Reduced movements 33 weeks?

I am 33 weeks and not sure what counts as reduced movements? Baby was always super wriggly, way more so than when I had DD but all yesterday he would only move if I poked him and then this morning he is a little bit more active but not like normal, still responds to being poked though.

Does that count as reduced movements? Or because he is moving sometimes is it OK? I have really bad anxiety and find it hard to trust my own judgement.

Go in and get checked, they'd always rather see you than miss something and it's worth a couple of hours out of your day for peace of mind at the very least. I know it's hard to judge when you're anxious, I was in and out during my third trimester as DD never got in any pattern of movements and they were always happy to check things out. My last visit ended up picking something up that meant we had to stay in deliver so I'm a big advocate for getting things checked!

Always, alway go in and get checked.

Don’t feel like you are causing a fuss because you really aren’t. Midwives probably see many women each day who have concerns about movement so providing monitoring and reassurance about this will just be part of their daily job.

Definitely. Please call your local maternity assessment unit who will get you to go in to be checked over

If you're not happy then phone triage. You know baby better than anyone. They'd rather see 100 mothers being over cautious where everything is fine, than have one not want to be a pain and something be wrong. If baby's movements aren't normal to you, then it counts! Good luck x

I would ring triage in your situation. They may tell you to drink a glass of ice cold water and then lie still for half an hour. If you don't notice an increase in movements go in to be seen. Trust your instincts - it's better to get checked and all be fine than to wait and miss something that's wrong.

If it’s not baby’s normal pattern get it checked. Babies will almost always respond to a prod, those who don’t are very VERY hypoxic and we want to catch them before that stage!!

It could well be that he’s in a different position and it just feels different but it’s not worth the risk.

Echoing what everyone else is advising. If you are worried, call and or go in and be checked out. Always trust your gut. You are not causing a fuss in any way it is the advice we are given. If something feels different/ not quite right, we call and ask for advice.

I hope you went in and got checked. Always always go in - if you’re questioning it then you should follow it up with a trip to be monitored. Hope all is okay ❤️
