I will miss the effortlessness of getting dressed in the morning. who cares if it's clean or not? so this is what is meant by 'having a capsule wardrobe'. mine constitutes one pair of giant cords, 5 tops and an extraordinarily old (and rather extraordinary) cardigan. putting away laundry takes 2 secs instead of 5 mins.

i won't miss the sensation that my stomach is a washing machine crammed with coat hangers. a few weeks ago, it felt like wire coat hangers in there, but now they're definitely the posh bulky wooden sort.

I'm AMAZED that anyone says that they won't miss being unable to sleep....er, but when the baby is born you don't get ANY sleep at all... a zillion, million times worse than waking up for a two minute trudge to the loo! God, I'm relishing every second of peace and quiet in bed and dreading the horror of the first six months...aaargh.

I loathed being pregnant! Hurrah for being a single entity again! One who can drink, eat unsuitable foodstuffs and fit into nice clothes!

good thread...i had forgotten how simple it was to choose what to wear.
i miss the extra boobage and shiny coat[and wet nose]

Wow! I thought that fact that I don't enjoy being pregnant was abnormal and that I was being a whingy cow! Phew!

I guess I will miss the extra consideration people are giving me, that feeling of being special.

I won't miss

  • being asked if I know if its a boy or a girl
  • feeling uncomfortable most of the time (during the day or when trying to sleep).
  • the worry about whether everything is going to be ok.
  • the feeling that I am waiting for something
  • working (job) full-time (although I will miss the salary)
  • not being able to drink, snowboard, mountain bike, wear whatever shoes I want, swim without worrying someone is going to kick me in the stomach, run, walk upstairs without feeling breathless

What I will and won't miss has been mostly covered... Quite enjoyed pregnancy up until those last 10 weeks. That was the long haul for me...

What I did miss was little hiccoughs from the baby(s) after I'd eaten!

don't miss:

  • huge belly entering room sometime before I do
  • feeling so hot in the summer heat
  • comments about my size
  • struggling to get out of chairs
  • needing the loo every minute ( or so it seemed)
  • huge undies
  • heartburn
  • waddling
  • dreadful all day sickness...

do miss:

  • dd1 patting and kissing my tummy
  • extra consideration by general public
  • dh doing extra bits when I was too exhausted to do them
  • kicking, swirling feeling of dd in my belly
  • thrill of not knowing whether dd2 would be a boy/girl

WOuld I go through it a third time - SURE if dh is up to it.

Won't miss:
3 months of vomiting 24/7
Terrible heartburn and indigestion in my last 2 months
The tree-trunk legs and ankles
Not being able to roll over in bed without making a whole performance of it.
Breathlessness

Will miss:
My tummy
Getting lots of attention
Looking huge and having an excuse
The movement of my baby

won't miss a lot of what is already said plus:
constantly and extremely chapped lips.
Highlighting glugging lucozade to prevent muscle cramps.

will miss:
Laughing my head off at the silliest little things.

alux · 21/02/2005 06:12

Will not miss people saying:

Will you keep working after you have your baby? HUH????

shortiemum · 21/02/2005 18:30

i think that women who say they love being pregnant are either mental or lying.im 36 weeks now and its really starting to get on my nerves. all i want to do is lie on my stomach, get drunk, smoke 20 fags go on a trampoline and do all the things im not aloud.i will not miss savage heartburn, lack of sleep, whinging boyfriend(due to lack of sex)disaproving looks from people who think im younger than i am,and feeling like a hippo.

golds · 21/02/2005 18:36

Thankfully I had really good pregnancies. I still miss (nearly 5 years on) feeling like the most important person in the world.

I think, maybe, I have some issues I need to deal with
