Subchorionic bleeding

So I’m 8 weeks pregnant (just had a private early scan) and everything looked good with bubba however it was picked up that I have a subchorionic haemorrhage between uterus wall & membrane measuring 12X3X18 mm. I haven’t noticed any bleeding or spotting however- she said this is normal if I do. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience of this, I don’t have my NHS 12 weeks scan for 4 1/2 weeks so do I need to be seen earlier / do anything differently? Worried there is more of a risk of a miscarriage as I’m still quite early on?!

Hi OP I had a bleed at 5+1 and went to EPU thinking MC, it was there they found mine, it was 11.2mm x 10.4mm. I had another big bleed a few days after and went back to EPU. Pregnancy confirmed with heartbeat and SCH had shrunk to 10.3 x 3.9 but then bled again after it as the wand must have irritated it. There are support groups on Facebook you can join. I think mine reduced due to the bleeding but I have been having a lot of bed rest too. They usually resolve themselves I believe.
Mine is an ivf pregnancy where these are higher, I was also on aspirin due to previous mc which is now paused until 7 weeks for review where hopefully the SCH will have gone x

I would ring EPU and ask their advice they may want to check themselves. Try not do anything to exerting. If you join the Facebook groups there is a lot of support on there. I was told at EPU, no lifting, exercise, sex, and to take it easy (I have spent a lot of time in bed I've even been working from bed 😊) x

Yes, I had this with my 3rd pregnancy. I had an early scan because I'd had some bleeding. I'd had a miscarriage a few months before so was very anxious. It had disappeared by the 12 week scan. The result of that pregnancy is now dancing round the living room. Wishing you the best of luck Flowers

Have my 12 weeks scan scheduled in about 2 weeks time so hopefully will find it has disappeared as I haven’t had any bleeding whatsoever so hoping it was very small and just absorbed itself! Glad to hear everything went okay with you guys!

Ah so sorry to hear that happened to you but glad the bleeding wasn’t anything alarming.

I had a terrible subchorionic bleed Sad

I was admitted to hospital i bled so much , and there was talk of ending my pregnancy because the bleeding could put me at risk.

I bled for the first 3 months ... our DS is now a gorgeous 15 year old.

I did go into premature labour as can happen if you bleed in pregnancy , but he is a strapping beautiful lad.

In fact the staff used to say he was the most photographed unborn baby at that time , i had so many scans.

There was always this massive bleed on the scans , and then our tiny dancing bean completely oblivious to it all 🤣

Yes l had one which absorbed itself by my 12 week scan

I had one with both my kids. With both I had bleeds at 6 and 9 weeks. The 9 weeks ones were quite a bit.

Babies are now 6 and 4 and both fine and dandy.

if you do have a bleed, don’t panic. Lie down on your left side and rest. Likely it will stop quite quickly. You can then self refer to your local EPU via A&E and have a scan. If you have no pain with the bleeding it’s likely ok.

ah happy to hear everything was ok in the end. It’s just strange because I haven’t noticed any bleeding whatsoever since finding out I have the bleed at my early scan… not really sure what that means?!

I had this with our first DC. It started quite early and then continued on through most of the pregnancy. I was on bed rest at points as the bleeding was quite heavy.

It was very frightening.

We were under a private specialist at the time and I was prescribed pessaries. We also had fortnightly scans to monitor the situation.

DC was born a month early due to placenta issues which were discovered after delivery. May be worthwhile asking your dr to keep an eye on that.

However, after all that DC is sat next to me now healthy, happy and absolutely gorgeous 😊
