Hi,

Just intrigued to know what your resting heart rate is during your pregnancy?

TIA x

26 weeks here and my rhr has gone up to an average of 77bpm.

Elttek · 07/08/2023 08:23

Pre pregnancy it was in the 60's, now at nearly 30 weeks it's in the 80's

Sagittarius25 · 07/08/2023 09:01

28 weeks and average if 66bpm. In the first couple of weeks of being pregnant it did spike up to 70s/80s but pretty much back to normal now.

Shouldhavebutdidnt · 07/08/2023 09:04

For the last 3/4 months of pregnancy mine was around 100-110, before pregnancy resting was around 73. Didn’t seems to cause any issues but just meant I was gentler when I exercised (continued exercising until day before being induced)

sommeliermama · 07/08/2023 11:43

Before pregnancy was 55-60, has been 75-80 most of the pregnancy

honeyrain · 07/08/2023 11:52

36 weeks pregnant...HR 94 bpm. Usually sits 70-80. Totally breathless though 😮‍💨

babyk2023 · 07/08/2023 13:05

My resting heart rate is between 100 - 115. Feel absolutely shattered everyday and feel quite breathless. It can go up to 140 when I climb stairs.

Had an ECG - nothing abnormal.

Have an on and off fever sometimes and they suspect I may have an infection but I've got no symptoms.

It's just so annoying! 😒

@babyk2023 mine is at 100 as well. I thought it was the high Progesteone level (as I'm on supplements post Ivf), or the steroids they put me on or the hyperthyroidism I developed, but I'm off those meds and my thyroid has eased and it's still at 100. I do run a fairly low blood pressure. Nobody seems that worried but I get the concern, I've stopped wearing a fitness tracker as it will just stress me out, I've had a lot of scans and the baby is fine, I'm currently 17 weeks.

Pitstop1986 · 07/08/2023 21:06

I'm the opposite end of the spectrum. 23 weeks and my RHR is between 45 and 50.

My thyroid dipped and went slightly underactive but I've been taking thyroxine for 3 weeks now, so it should have improved by now. ECG shows normal, with the exception of the bradycardia

redxlondon · 07/08/2023 22:23

55-65, I do a lot of cardio, but it has elevated slightly as earlier this year it dropped below 50 at full rest.

Im 13 weeks and resting is around 80. Just walking around it reaches 100. Pre pregnancy is about 72-76 so Im not really low anyway. How is your BP?

babyk2023 · 08/08/2023 19:32

@Rainyday33 BP is fine slightly on the lower side. Heart rate is always 100+. 100 is on the lowest it gets. Average is 115 - 120. X

Pre pregnancy was about 85, now I’m around 110. It’s gotten as high as 165 going upstairs, walking up hill etc. I agree it’s exhausting😩

Are you managing to do much cardio, or is it not advised with the high heart rate? Long term cardio should help bring it down, but not sure if this is just an anomaly with pregnancy?

Nattalie18 · 08/08/2023 20:23

Mine went up to 90 at around 15 weeks, same as you I went to doctor and ECG etc was all
fine. I increased my water consumption and that’s seemed to have helped, now 22 weeks and its back down in high 70s

I’ve read that when your bp is lower your heart rate is higher, that is the way your heart compensate low bp. Anyway I would check with the doctor if it is constantly above 100 even thought it is not unusual in pregnancy.
