Hey!

I've done a few posts now back again 👎🏻
Im 11 weeks and the nausea is still as extreme. Started with headaches however I am assuming this could be due to lack of fluids.

I tolerate about 500-700mls a day, food wise completely varies. Mainly living on salted crackers.
Tried 3 lots of antisickness but nothing works, I think because I am not actually vomiting! Maybe I'd have a break from the nausea if I was.

I've been off work sick with this for 4 weeks. The guilt is overwhelming. The only way it settles is lying flat on my back.

Anyone else feel/felt the same? X

Hey OP yes with you on this. Only thing that helps is laying down. Do you have HG? I’m also on meds though taking them minimal around looking after my son as he’s off on summer holidays. Doesn’t matter whether I eat or not the nausea has been excruciating & I’m sick of eating.

Don’t feel guilty for being off sick. Your body needs the rest it’s doing a lot right now. I’m also off sick.

I had HG through my pregnancy and the first few months were the worst. I was in hospital several times. I was off work for 2 months and also felt so guilty about it. But you are unwell. You can’t work. I had to go back to work super slowly - a few hours a day at first. If I did too much I’d start being sick again. It really really takes it out if your body so please don’t feel bad, rest up and look after yourself. There’s help available and different medications, so keep pushing for help.

Well I've spoken to a few midwife's and pregnancy support they have mentioned "dry HG" which I didn't realise was a thing but because I've lost over a stone unable to really eat and drink apparently it is. It's how it impacts on your life. Gosh how do you cope with a little one too. Thank you for your support!! You're a superhero!!! Xx

Sorry I replied to a different message on yours 🙈 I'm just getting used to this!
Yes I've been in hospital a few times but for the injections antisickness they don't really change anything though 😩😩 xx

It is completely dreadful. I was actually sick a lot with mine which was awful but immediately after I was sick I’d have a short window of no nausea so in some ways that’s easier I think than ‘just’ being nauseous all the time. I didn’t find the injections much help either, and very painful! But getting dehydrated on a drip helped - dehydration can make you more nauseous, so it turns into a viscous cycle. Ondansetron was the medication that helped me, you could ask for that although they won’t give it to you until after 12 weeks.

Yes I think if I was vomiting I'd actually have some relief. I have a break about 10pm for an hour 🙈 it's the fact I'm so weak all day everyday!
It's reassuring knowing others have been through this. I just want to be able to enjoy this time feel so miserable, guess that's normal too 🤞🏻
Thanks for the recommendation about ondansetron so many have said the same! I will ask my midwife if no change next week xx
