I Am very grateful to be growing life but my weight is playing on my mind and feeling very fed up. Pre pregnancy I was around 9st 5/6. I’m 32 weeks and 11 st now. Is this too much? I’m 5ft 2. Will I lose the weight? Will my baby be heavy?

I was 9st 3lbs starting so very similar and I'm 5ft 4. I'm 23 weeks and 10stone now. I'm expecting to be nearer 11 stone at the end so I don't think that's excessive.

I never quite got back to my pre birth weight after 1st but got within about 4lbs of it without much effort.

They would have mentioned by know if they thought you were measuring ahead x

Thanks you made me feel a lot better. How are you keeping? I’m measuring 2 weeks ahead, growth scans pretty much every week! But I am just wondering cause you read people saying they measured big bit baby wasn’t big! Hope you are keeping well.

I'm 5"7, was around 10st10lb before pregnancy and now 12st 2 at 29 weeks. This felt like a big gain to me but I read on the NHS site that anything between 0.5-1lb per week of pregnancy is normal? I did gain 4 of those lb due to IVF treatment so actually started pregnancy at around 10 13/11st.

Honestly, get your scales and throw them so far out the window! It’s only worth weighing yourself right before baby is born to be able to get a final weight to compare to. There is really no benefit in knowing what weight you are before that. I gained 3 and a half stone last time. The first two stone came off within a month or two as my body and all the swelling, water etc went back to normal. I only had a stone and a bit to actively try to lose and it did eventually come off without too much trouble! You will lose it no bother, there’s no rush and you actually don’t care that much after when you see your belly start to go down etc, I think it’s just a panic when you can’t imagine how this could possibly fix itself 🙈 It will be fine!

I am 23 weeks now and I haver been actively watching my weight for the last six weeks or so. I get it that some people lose the baby weight very easily , but most of my friends didn't , so when the weight was going up so quickly , I really took the time to analyse what I was eating.
I am mindful of what I eat and the impact it has on me and my baby's health. Some foods have an impact on development and later issues such as ADHD and autism, why increase the risk?

It is not always easy especially with other children in the house during school holidays and all they want all day long is to snack.

I am 5ft and was 9st when I fell pregnant by the end I was 11st 7lbs. Baby was 7lbs 10 oz. I always measured normal. My dh is 6ft 2 and built like a rugby player. I never stood a chance at having a small baby!

So you've gained 1st and 8lb at 32 weeks? That seems like normal, healthy weight gain to me. They say normal weight gain is 25-35lb by 40 weeks.

I was 52kg before my first pregnancy and was 66kg at 40 weeks, so gained 14kg (30lb) 10kg fell off me after the birth, and another 2kg over the next 2 weeks. The following 2 weeks another kg fell off me, and the last kg hung around. You'll be surprised how much falls off you once you've had the baby!

They say at least 20lb is the weight of the baby, placenta, amniotic fluid, excess blood, heavier uterus, etc. It's not all fat on you!

Try to relax and enjoy the pregnancy. If you do gain weight, you can always lose it once baby is here.
