Hey girls, I’ve started looking into prams for my baby that’s coming in a few weeks but found the market very overwhelming - can anybody advice which prams you’ve used before and we’re happy with?
thanks!

What are you looking for in a pram? What’s your budget? I have first hand experience of a few and they all have their pros and cons. Eg the Uppababy Vista V2 is great as a work horse and as a double, Cybex Beezy (probably my favourite but it’s fairly small which may be off putting for some people) has an easy fold and can still be used as a travel system and Out N About Nipper is good “off road”.

Cosatto giggle quad has been brilliant for us. So easy to use, looks great, folds small easily. Ours did break but they sent a courier to pick it up and couldn’t repair so sent us a new chassis. Great customer service

Just to add - any budget really!
thank you everybody for all your advice

Prams are a very personal choice. You need to think about the following things and base your search on the top 3 I reckon:

  • longevity (will you want a second with a small age gap, can it convert to a double?)
  • price
  • size (as is, how big is your boot if you drive, where will it be stored at home).
  • practicality. (If you use buses or public transport a lot, a pram that folds one handed is essential. I used to wear dd in a sling and fold the pram because there was never any space).

We went for the silver cross travel system because we liked it. Then regretted it when we realised that it basically took up our entire boot. We used it for a year then got a small umbrella fold stroller. For my second I used it again for a short period, then bought a Cossato whoosh when dd2 was about 5 months.

Go and look at loads, look at the mumsnet reviews on here. Also, when people tell you that you can sell the expensive ones again... I've never known anyone actually get decent money for them. Ours cost £1200 new (makes me feel sick). It was immaculate thanks to DH's cleaning habit and I ended up selling it for £90. Similarly orients have bought expensive prams expecting a few hundred quid back and have really struggled to sell them.

Agree about the vista. We got an baby jogger mini city pushchair for a long toddler as wanted something easier to fold and lighter

Uppababy Vista is amazing, so many handy features like the pull down UV screen, wheels that pop off for cleaning etc. It's an absolute workhorse and can convert to a double too. Shopping basket is huge also, I use mine nearly 7 years later for my weekly shop

Yeah you'll need to answer all the questions above by pp before anyone can advise. Also what terrain do you want to walk on, will you run with it, do you want a pram that converts to a buggy, do you live in a particularly windy area and therefore the rain cover needs to be bombproof, etc etc etc.

No point me telling you my buggy is wonderful for my city life and it folds easily with one hand to go on the bus but would never fit in a hatchback, if you have a fiesta but never get busses and you want wheels that can handle gravel and mountain paths.

Loved my Bugaboo Cameleon.

Loved my iCandy Peach even more!

You can also get second hand and get them serviced or professionally cleaned
