Quick question for those in the know
I had a bank midwife at my booking in appointment who seemed confused about several things which has made me nervous. As she was going through a check list she got to the question Mother aged greater than 35, she initially said oh I know if I click this it will change something (I think it was risk or if I needed aspirin or something), then she was like no, it says greater than not equal to, so I'll put no.

Is this right? I'm 35 but will still be pregnant at 36 if everything goes to plan.

Wouldn't normally question it but there were several bits she openly admitted she wasn't sure about or had changed recently.

Nice guidance for med risk factor for preeclampsia (so possibly requiring aspirin if another med risk factor is present) is 40years old

(local policies might be different)

It is generally 35. It is a risk factor for blood clots in pregnancy but age alone would not be enough to prompt treatment, there would need to he multiple risk factors present such as smoking, previous history of blood clots or clotting disorder. Get back in touch with the team if you are concerned that something has been missed x

I was marked as a geriatric primagravida at 32

I was pregnant at 34 and again at 36. No aspirin recommended. The only difference was a the glucose test with the last pregnancy

Thanks guys. Not sure if it was aspirin or something else, as it all kinda blended into one.

@rosewatergin does that actually change any of the prenatal care/checks though?
