Natural birth after 2 c sections ?

Hi eveyone I'm pregnant with my third baby
My first pregnancy I had a failed induction at 38 weeks (they thought baby was massive he was 8lb 13 ) got to 4cm and He went into distress and was being chocked with every contractions as cord was round his neck so I had an emergency c scetion and the healing was terrible

My second was another failed induction at 40 weekw again went to 5 cm they then made me wait till the morning I got another c scetion I wasn't even checked before to see if I dilated more even tho I was in really bad pain and having constant contractions

I'm 21 weeks and the last time I seen my midwife she said they cant induce me again amd she didn't think I would go into natural labour as I havnt before
So it will be a planned c scetion
So what would happen if I went into natural labour would they make me have an emergency c section or have a natural birth
I dont see my midwife again till September and I'll ask then but just wanting some advice from people who have been through similar what was your out come
I would love a natural birth as c scetions are a hard recovery and espically now with having 1 young children they are 2 and 1
I just feel I've never got to enjoy the first month with my newborns as im always in pain and having problems with my sections just really makes me down feeling like I have to go though it again and I have a really bad fear of dying during it

All advice would be great tia

It's entirely your choice OP 😊
I've had two vba2cs, having never laboured with my first two, and am aiming for another in November. The best chance you have for a vba2c is to allow your body to go into labour on it's own with no induction or interventions such as sweeps.

@Bookworm12345 was your first labour after the c sections long?

Yes, both were quite long.

They would probably recommend for you to have an elective c-section due to two previous c sections however you can say no! They probably would not be able to induce you either, but that does not mean you have to have a c section.
id advise speaking to your midwife, she may be able to send you for an appointment with doctors where you can discuss your options for example having a C-section booked for when you are 42 weeks and seeing if you go into Labour naturally before then. I’d be mindful that this may have to change depending on your and baby’s health (for example if they stopped growing and they recommend early delivery - which you can always refuse if you wish!) and also that there is an increase risk of scar rupture however this does not mean you cannot labour and cannot have a vaginal birth, they may just have a lower threshold for recommending csection.

I’m surprised they actually offered you the option of induction the second time after a previous section.

I’d personally recommend a planned section, it wouldn’t be as hard or traumatic as a failed induction and EMCS. If you do go into labour naturally, try a VBAC if you want to, but it will likely come with higher risks. Otherwise you can just go straight for a section if you go into labour.

I also believe the guidance has now changed so the latest they’d let you go is around 41 weeks, not 42 weeks.

Hi op,
I know this is a year old thread but was wondering if you have a natural birth.
I am on my 5th pregnancy.
My history is...
I'm 40 years old.
My son 19 years ago was stillborn and natural birth, my second son 17 years ago was c section due to being breach and after my first child I didn't want him touched but went into labour without intervention at 36 weeks.
13 years ago my daughter was born by c section at 34 as I went into labour and the labour didn't progress and her heart rate dropped and then 4 years ago my son was born stillborn, with a natural labour.
I've spoken to the consultant and she's told me I can't have a natural birth and have to have a c section.
My worry is my recoveries from c sections were horrible and my son 17 year old son is autistic and my daughter is in comprehensive and needs to get there and home and I won't be able to drive.
My partner works away.
Sorry for the life story but I wanted to explain why I'm scared of another c section xxx.

Hi I ended up with another c section I went into labor the day before my scheduled c section was in labor 24 hours my body was trying push baby out but I wouldn't dilate I was so scared about another section as my oldest son is autistic too so needs a lot of care ,but honestly my 3rd section was my best I recovered great with no problems i think moving more sooner actually helped me recover quicker and the the kids being so young and needing me ,
but I totally understand your fears, I was the same I kept thinking something would go wrong and had myself so worked up about it .You've been through a lot and I'm so sorry to hear ❤️
I know it's hard but try not to worry your brave and really strong with everthing youve been through
you'll be fine and you will do amazing Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and I hope all goes well for you 😊
