Hiya, I'm new here but really struggling at the moment and wondering if anyone has been in the same position as me and fell pregnant because I can't see a light at the end of this tunnel! Me and my partner had been TTC for 3 years when I eventually fell pregnant but this unfortunately ended up being an ectopic pregnancy and I had to have one of my tubes removed, after this I was then diagnosed with PCOS and that's why I was struggling in the first place, it's not 2 year on and I'm still no further forward, I have been put on 1000mg of Metformin per day and 50mg of Clomid, this is the 2nd round of Clomid and I've just found out it has failed to make me ovulate this month, I don't know what more I can do, has anyone successfully conceived with only 1 tube?

@AlexLeighx sorry to hear what you're going through but you have to remember there's light at the end of the tunnel.
I had an idea that I might have PCOS after TTC for 8 months and having the symptoms I do.
I went for a private scan this evening and they confirmed I have PCOS in my left ovary but my right one seems to be okay. I've been reassured by friends who have known people with only one working ovary where they have conceived.
I'm at the start of my PCOS journey, I need to send to report to my gp with hope to get a referral with a specialist so any support or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Fingers crossed for us both ♥️

Sorry to hear of your struggles. I also have PCOS (diagnosed 2 years into our TTC journey). Clomid failed to work for me at all, I think they tried 5 cycles before moving me on to Ovulation Induction, which is similar to IVF in that you inject yourself daily with FSH whilst being monitored with regular scans. Once you have a sufficiently ripe follicle you are told to take a trigger injection and have lots of sex for the next 48 hours!

Give the Clomid a chance, but if it is not working (ie I didn’t even ovulate on it) then ask about next steps. IVF is too big a jump straight away - like cracking an egg with a hammer - but something like OI is worth looking at and should be offered on the NHS.

I don’t know what NHS Trust you are under, but this is the clinic I was under for my treatment (they do NHS and Private work): https://www.cambridge-ivf.org.uk/services/fertility-treatments/ovulation-induction-oi/

My eldest is now 9 and my youngest 6, both were conceived via OI, on the third attempt with each child.

Ovulation induction (OI)

@CaveMum hello and thank you it's very reassuring to know we can still conceive, even with just a little bit of help.
I'm at the very start so have to go to my GP with my results from the private clinic then hopefully we can start the journey.

Fingers crossed for you all goes well. I'll be looking up those terms you used and I actually live near the border of Cambridgeshire so you never know!

Oh I’m way past TTC now! But hopefully my experience might help point ithers in a useful direction.
