Different pregnancy symptoms = different sex baby?

Just that really. I know every pregnancy is different. But wondering if anecdotally different symptoms for you meant your babies were different sexes, or not? Thanks!

My daughter had three boys one after the other and the symptoms she had were the same in each pregnancy.
No 4 was a girl and she felt sick all through the pregnancy. Something she had never had before.

I felt the same both times and same sex so might be something in it x

LaVitesse2022 · 24/07/2023 11:29

There's no evidence whatsoever that different symptoms mean different sexes. Old wives tale x

EarthlyNightshade · 24/07/2023 11:31

Totally different for me. Two boys. Two entirely different personalities though.

Kalodin · 24/07/2023 11:39

4 pregnancies, first 3 boys and currently pregnant (don't know the sex) and each pregnancy has been completely different.

As a PP said, there's no research to link that different sexes make different symptoms.

I've always wondered if it can differ because of how different our bodies could be in each pregnancy. For each 4 pregnancies I've been in rather different points in my life, with different diets and different jobs etc.

Had the same symptons all my pgs but babies were boy and girl. The only one that differed ended in a mc.

I had a massive sweet tooth when having my daughter. For the first 5 months(and pretty much until she was born)I could only eat chocolate and sweets.anything else made me feel sick.i knew before my 20 week scan I would be having a girl.with my sons I loved meat and burgers.

Percypiglover · 24/07/2023 13:51

Totally different pregnancies and two boys. Was convinced my second was going to be a girl because of how different I felt !

Crunchingleaf · 24/07/2023 13:55

Three boys here and three very different pregnancies. The sickness on the second was brutal. Really took a toll. Nowhere near as bad then for number 3 but still struggled with nausea. Pelvic pain was worse on second.

MrsHsGirl · 24/07/2023 13:58

I had some nausea and sickness with my eldest (boy) which had passed by the end of the first trimester. I am pregnant again and the sickness is absolutely debilitating even well into the second trimester. I was convinced it must be a girl but low and behold it's another boy!

MrsLM85 · 24/07/2023 15:27

My first a boy I had nausea but not really sickness, couldn’t stand smell of coffee, fried foods. Later in awful indigestion and fat cankles lol

Greetingsfellows · 24/07/2023 15:39

With my son I had terrible nausea and exhaustion up until 16 weeks. Couldn't eat anything sweet throughout my pregnancy.

Pregnant now with my second son. Had the terrible nausea and exhaustion until around 21 weeks. Craved sweet food like no ones business. I have also had every other imaginable symptom too. Hot flashes, headaches, sensitivity to smell, metallic taste in my mouth, insomnia, weird dreams, constant need to urinate, backache, sore gums, constipation, palpitations, the list goes on and on!

Alloveragain3 · 24/07/2023 15:45

Same symptoms for me (bad sickness, exhaustion) one boy and one girl.

lovemycbf · 24/07/2023 15:56

Hypermesies 1st child
No sickness 2nd child
Both the same sex

WedTheBed · 24/07/2023 16:00

I had a girl first, had absolutely no symptoms what so ever, no sickness, no cravings, no difference to my skin/hair ect. I felt great - probably at my most confident during pregnancy. My stomach just got rounder😂

Pregnant again 18 months later, No symptoms, no cravings, no changes. Felt great. Had a boy.

Sorry that’s no help😂

GreenIsTheMagicColour · 24/07/2023 16:07

My pregnancy symptoms couldn't have been more different each time, and they were the same sex.

PickledScrump · 24/07/2023 19:28

3 pregnancies, 3 completely different pregnancies and symptoms, all 3 are girls. There really isn’t any relationship between sex and symptoms

Nodeepdiving · 24/07/2023 19:42

Two totally different pregnancies, two boys. I really don't buy into these things, it's just another form of gender stereotyping IMO

Jomummy1013 · 24/07/2023 19:50

I have two girls and a boy and my pregnancies were identical. Carried them the same way, felt the same, had no sickness.
I am pregnant again now, I'm 14 weeks, and suffering with nausea and sickness. Not feeling 100%. I'm exhausted and have a permanent headache. I sailed through my first three pregnancies and if my three were all the same sex, I would be thinking this is the opposite sex as I am finding it totally different this time around. My youngest is 8, I am 41 and I am wondering if I feel so different to before because of my age! 😅
