Is there a thing as too much movement?

Inn24 weeks, i started with sickness and diarrhea at 8am turned a corner at 12ish not been sick or anything since then. ive kept sipping water and had an ice lolly, dont feel as ill as i did but the reason im posting is, little one hasn't stoped moving and i mean he's going bonkers, never ever experianced anything like it. He did settle down for a hour or so at 1 ish but he started again at 3ish. I was just wondering if anybody else had experienced this?

Hi op congratulations. I think the movement your experiencing is a good thing. At least you know baby is happy.
I'm almost 19 weeks with my 4th and still waiting to feel movement 🙃

I’m 25 weeks and a couple of days ago my baby was moving like crazy, doing some kind of mixed martial arts in my womb! However this was after a day of not really moving too much - I couldn’t go out for a walk cos it was hammering it down outside. So I wonder if that had anything to do with it? When we walk it rocks them to sleep a bit doesn’t it.

I wonder too what increases movements. Sometimes it feels like when I'm hungry baby moves more, to get me to get up and have breakfast!

Mine did that around 22-24 weeks. Settled down a bit more this last week. They will start getting into a pattern of movement between 28-32 weeks, from then any change in movement should be checked, that includes reduced or increased

I think you should call your midwife or hospital, not to worry you but any change in normal movements, whether it's more or less, should be checked out.

At that stage my baby was either very quiet (giving me absolute anxiety) or having absolute party in there.

Talk to your midwife if you feel worried. But I do seem to remember both of mine taking up what i can only describe as "interior breakdance" at about this stage.

I would always, always say get it checked out. Any change in movement should be checked, whether that's too little or too much. It's not to scare you, just to make sure you're little one isn't trying to tell you something. With movements I just think it's never worth the risk x

Call your maternity unit, any change in pattern of movement should be checked. Likely all is well but as a midwife I would advise to get checked.
