Glucose in urine

I have just had a mw app and there is glucose showing in my urine. I’m 37 weeks on Friday.
Can anyone advise on what happens next please? Mw said not to worry and she’ll check it again at my next app but I’m sitting in the car a bag of nerves.
baby is predicted to be almost 11lb based on bump size too, is this connected and is it likely to be accurate?
I have gained quite a bit of weight with this pregnancy but I had no signs of GD before now. I do have a fizzy drink craving and have 2 cans a day, has this caused it?
Any experiences would be very helpful thank you

Did the MW do a finger prick to see what your blood glucose is? I don't know the relevance of glucose in urine in your situation but I would think that it's important to know the levels in your blood, which is a more current indicator of anything that might be going on.

Sometimes glucose can be present in your urine when you have just consumed something high in sugar.
A single reading of glucose in your urine is not a concern, however another sample should be checked in a weeks time- do you have a 38 week appointment?
This personally happened to me as I had a 9am midwife appt and had eaten crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast! Midwife brought me back a week later and all was normal.

If you do have concerns though then it's worth discussing with your midwife- if they think baby is 11lb at 37 weeks I'm surprised they are not thinking about induction/c section. Although if that weight estimate is from measuring your fundal height and not a growth scan then it is potentially quite inaccurate (as can be growth scans but less so).

No she didn’t take any blood, she only told me it’s +1 glucose

Thank you that would make sense as I did have a sugary breakfast. Is it worth contacting the midwife team and getting a second opinion?
