Can anyone please help ! I'm 9 weeks and struggling so bad with morning sickness. I feel sick from morning to night 😔 most things I eat I throw up and it's just making me extremely miserable and depressed. My mood swings are terrible and I'm just so unhappy at the moment . It's making me not excited at all for the baby and some days has me questioning why I decided to have another 😞 please tell me things will eventually get better . x

Would you consider medication from the gp to ease the sickness and nausea?

Oh OP, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Morning sickness is absolutely terrible. I had it with both pregnancies and I remember feeling how you feel at the moment. Try and find a midwife or GP who will take you seriously and not dismiss it as ‘one of those things’. Rest as much as you can and find strategies that will help. For me it was ensuring I was never ever hungry and not taking hot showers or baths. It may or may not ease, but the odds are in favour of it easing as you progress. Good luck to you.

Have a look at hyperemisis if you’re sick/ feeling sick that often it’s a possibility -it’s not much fun I had it in my second pregnancy but medication really helped. There is a long running support thread on here, have a search for that, it was really helpful when I was struggling.

I would speak to the gp for antisickness tablets. Some people get it bad the first 12 weeks and as the hcg levels so does the sickness, others it can be the whole pregnancy. You need to keep on top of your water intake too. I was hospitised so many times due to dehydration and it's not fun.

I went through this op. The tablets from the gp helped a bit but I was still really sick. The drip helped me feel better but was obviously hospitalised for that several times throughout pregnancy,

Sip water, don't gulp it. Regularly throughout the day.

Poor thing. I had hyperemesis last year with my Feb baby. It is hell. Pure hell. Have you noticed there's certain things you're not digesting very well? I found I wasn't digesting meat and fish so went veggie which helped. I also used to down pints of water to 'dilute' the vomit.

As an aside, it might be worth you taking some iron. I didn't realise how anaemic I was until my 28 week bloods and I honestly think that contributed to it. Also, I found pregnacare made my sickness so much worse so I took folic acid by itself.

Basically, just try and get through it. I found McDonalds strawberry milkshakes a lifesaver, toast with lurpak, olives and salt and vinegar crisps all helped.

Obviously, there are medication options which may help too. I tried two but wish someone had told me they were strong anti-histamines which made me feel more tired than ever. I think the medication route is very personal because you just don't know how you feel respond so I won't go into which ones I had etc!

First - sympathies! I struggled with the worst pregnancy nausea weeks 6-16.

Things that helped me: banning everyone around me from mentioning bloody ginger. Grazing constantly on 'safer' foods - mine were salt and vinegar chip sticks, ice lollies and super cold grapes. At week 14, I went on cyclizine which did take the edge off.

Best of luck - it will get better!

Thankyou all so much ❤️
I can't keep meat down , mushrooms , crisps , pizza , bread, anything at all that has oil in so things tried and roasted , fruit seems to stay and salad . But I just feel so sick it's starting to get harder to feel hungry. I have my first midwife appointment on Thursday so will tell her all about it and see what she can help me with. Cool showers tend to help a little aswell. Only problem with medication is being sick will just bring it back up . I just feel so alone at the moment and I know that sounds totally pathetic cos so many women go through this aswell. Xx

I feel for you, I'm in the same position. Still sick at nearly 15 weeks. It does gradually seem to be easing but thats because I've started taking Ondansetron.

You don't want to get yourself into a position where you're severely dehydrated. It's dangerous for you and for your baby. If you feel like you cannot keep fluid or food down for more than a day you should go to A&E.

I got myself into a right state, dehydrated, exhausted, low blood pressure, lost a stone, could barely get up from my bed.

Yours might only last a few weeks, or it could potentially last longer. I would call your GP for medication.
