At what point should I ring the hospital?

little back sorry, been having pains since Saturday night. Currently 37+5 by hospital scans (38+5 by last period)
got out the shower Saturday, baby moved that hard my cervix felt weird pain and I felt something in my vagina, pains been on and off since Saturday, they have been waking me through the night so I haven’t slept properly since the Friday night before.
pressure, backache, period type cramping, lightening crotch.

I had a community midwife app yesterday she wasn’t bothered and insisted any pain I had, was “head pains” she didn’t even give me the chance to mention what or where the pain was.

I quote “because it’s not your first you would have delivered by now if it was anything”

I rang maternity triage who advised it sounded like “head pains” and the start of labour (latent phase), again all last night been woken up by pains. They feel like they are getting slightly stronger but they are still sporadic, some closer together, some not so much and even like 20/30 minute brakes in between bursts.

I haven’t been examined, I don’t want to ring the hospital and get given the “wasting our time” attitude like normal.
I just want to be examined to know if all of this is doing anything or not, if not I want to know what can be done as I am so tired and uncomfortable. i Have quite a high pain threshold so I don’t know if they’re anything to worry about as I would be able to sit with them getting worse and not realise to be honest. Ive never felt BH. First labour was back labour and was induced I never felt contractions at all just the pain in my back.

They are unlikely to examine you to be honest. Many trusts don’t now as it can be really disheartening if women hear they’re not as progressed as they’d like to be. It sounds like things are moving in. The right direction, probably not what you want to hear but it could still be a while. It’s likely your cervix is effacing and dilating. Look out for other signs of impending labour like loose stools or plug/show.

@PickledScrump thank you, I’ve had loss of mucus but been having that for a week or so anyway, I didn’t loose my plug with my first until after I had had a sweep, it was the only thing that got me in to proper labour.

To be honest I’m just desperate to know if it is happening or not, and if not if there’s anything that can be done as I’m in agony and I’m so tired from it all.
