Worrying about pregnancy tests (weeks indicator)

Hi - I’ll preface this with I’m a very anxious person to begin with so I know over testing isn’t helpful but can’t help myself!

I was due on my period last Saturday but it didn’t arrive - I’m super regular so I took a clearblue test on the afternoon. It said 1-2 weeks.
I took another one last Sunday morning which is when my Flo app actually said to test and it went up to 2-3 so I was chuffed.
However, I’ve taken one this morning (a week later) expecting it to go to 3+ but it’s still on 2-3 - I’m just worrying now and looking for anyone who has experienced the same.

I have a toddler who was a wonderful surprise but didn’t track dates so only know with him I took a test 5 days after my period was due and got a 3+ straight away!

Hcg in early pregnancy is super variable, even more so in urine. I never got a 3+ on cb digital and am currently 19 weeks. If you have a quick browse through here and the conception thread you will find thread after thread asking this exact question. Generally these tests seem to cause far more anxiety than they relieve. Try and take a step back from testing if you can (Easier said than done I know).

The range of normal hcg levels in early pregnancy is enormous. It's perfectly possible for there to be a 100 fold difference in hcg between two women at the same gestation both with healthy, normal pregnancies. These weeks indicator tests are notoriously unreliable. Apart from anything, it tells women that they are as little as 1-2 weeks pregnant, when pregnancy is measured from the date of the last menstrual period rather than from ovulation, and so at "1-2 weeks" most women won't have even ovulated yet, no matter have a clinically detectable pregnancy.

As long as you have no bleeding or abdominal pain then try to relax as best you can, and throw out these useless anxiety inducing tests.

This happened to me too early into the pregnancy, it should have said 3+ but still said 2-3 weeks. I'm now 36 weeks, and so far everything with baby has been fine, try not to worry. I also got 3+ with my last pregnancy when it should have said 2-3. Midwife told me that the weeks indicators are not very accurate

So I re did one this morning because I’m my own worst enemy 🙈 and it’s come up as 3+ so I feel a little less anxious but we’ll aware I’ve got 35 terrifying weeks to go still! 🤣

Okay, now STOP! If you do another you can guarantee it'll say 2-3 weeks and the panic will restart. Quit while you're ahead 😂 all the best for a healthy pregnancy
